Cancelled show vouchers/credit

Hello,

I hope you are well. When the pandemic started we issued cancelled show vouchers with a validity of 9 months. We then extended this to 18 months. We are looking at reducing this window but wanted to check what other venues policy's were. We also issue credit for exchanges and ticket resales, which is valid for 6 months.

if you could get back to me that would be super helpful.

Thanks and have nice day,

Zoe

  • Hi Zoe,

At Kings Place our gift voucher were valid for one year, we increased it to two years in the pandemic, we have no plans of reducing it as it has proved very popular with customers.
We have different events everyday so not that easy to reschedule. We are still cancelling events, most of our show this week are cancelled.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi Zoe,

Our normal policy on credits and gift certificates was 1 year validity. We extended any that would 'expire' during the pandemic until the end of April '22, effectively giving customers up to another year to use them. However with so much sitting on 'On Account' at this point and with numerous shows on sale in the season ahead, we are back issuing them on the basis of 1 year again.

    Best,
    Kat

  • Hi Zoe,

For vouchers we have issued for cancelled performances, or for those who can't come due to positive COVID tests etc., we are saying vouchers are valid for 2 years. However it may be that we still accept these after this date or that we extend some as people may not be able to use them within this time.

Hard to believe it but we are not that far away from 2 years since we started cancelling shows due to COVID!

    Any questions let me know.

    Thanks, Donald

  • Hi Zoe,

Our standard policy is that customers can return their tickets for a credit voucher up to 48 hours before an event (minus a £3 fee per ticket) and the voucher is valid for 1 year from date of issue. During the pandemic, we extended the validity to 2 years with no return fees charged.

We've now reverted to our standard policy with a bit more flexibility on the 48 hour rule if the return is due to Covid (and dependent on the promoter!).

    All best,

    Sarah

  • Hi Zoe

At the Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse, we offered credit with no expiry.  That said, in future we'll most likely look to implement an expiry on any new credits, whilst leaving the existing as no expiry.   We cancelled another 30 or so performances this Christmas, it does feel like it never ends, doesn't it?  I hope everyone's doing ok.

    Thanks

    Brendan

  • Hi Zoe

Our credit notes are valid for one year. Any that were due to expire when we were closed were extended by the period of closure, 16 months, so they could be used once we reopened. We also had ten performances of the panto cancelled just before Christmas so we are back to issuing refunds and credits for these customers, it's never ending!

    Best wishes

    Annabel

  • Hi

Our credit vouchers are for two years - we have always offerered that amount time -

The difference we did was we extended all of those about to expire  by another 18 months  -

    Thanks

    Tina

  • Hi Zoe,

Our  Old Vic CVs are for 18months.  This was extended by 18month in May 2020 and has now been rolled back to 18months.  For are last show cancellations we auto refunded everyone to CV and then gave them the option to contact for a refund and supplied an offer to book future shows.  If they chose not to attend the CV or ex only no refund. Exchanges we try and keep to the same production if possible.

    Hope that's helpful

    Sarah

  • Hey everyone this is super helpful. We have been cancelling loads of performances too, so true, it doesn’t end! We offer a cancelled show vouchers to everyone using the utility then giving the option for a refund or donation.

From your feedback we will keep cancelled show vouchers for 18 months for now then, we were wondering about reducing down to a year.

Thanks so much and sending love to you all!
