With the quickly evolving COVID-19 situation we are planning on how to address canceled performances. Does anyone have suggestions that can allow for a bulk return and refund to the original FOP? The PERFORMANCE SEAT RELEASE utility only allows a refund to on account payment methods.

As far as I'm aware, this is not possible to the original payment method, only the on-account method as you mentioned.
Hi there! We are also looking at this - are you guys also manually refunding 100s/1000s of orders?? There must be a better way!
Hi Tessiturians, I want to update you on some things we have working right now, given comments in this thread - Our software development team is working on functionality that will help with this issue. This week we will release a new Event Cancellation Utility, which is based on the Performance Seat Release Utility. With the Event Cancellation Utility, you will be able to apply funds from returned tickets to a gift certificate, toward a contribution, or to an on account payment method.
The Event Cancellation Utility will be available as a Shared Report, and will be included in our next Service Pack along with further enhancements. When the Event Cancellation Utility is available, we will post an update in our product announcements. Licensees hosted in RAMP can then request it through a help ticket, and our team will install it for you. Licensees with local installs can access the utility once it is available.
Once this is complete, we will be turning our attention to adding Credit Card Refunds as an option.

Thanks Chris - will the new utility operate the same as the 'performance seat release' in that you can exclude patrons from a list? Is it possible to have it only return seats from a list instead?
Hi Katherine Beaulieu (Past Member)- Yes, the new utility is an adaptation of the seat release utility, and you will be able to select either a suppression list, or an inclusion list (not both).

I might be missing something but the Event Cancellation Utility is not fully solving the problem, right? As it won't refund returned money to the original payment method? It sounds like it's just the Performance Seat Release report with the added options of moving the money to a contribution or gift certificate.
Hi Hazel Lynn James (Past Member) - The first release of this utility posted as a shared report will expand the functionality of the Seat Release utility by adding options for Contributions and Gift Certificates as you noted, along with a review mode to proof the output.
Shortly after that we will be releasing a service pack that includes one further option to refund the credit card used by the patron for the transaction.
We've had high enough demand for the first two additions that we thought it best to release those as soon as we could while we continue working on the more complex feature that returns funds to the credit card account. Both are coming soon, however!

I know y'all are working like crazy to get these kinds of tools into our hands - I'm just off a call with my Finance team, and want to say that when Credit Card Refunds are the focal point, a "Review" mode would be INCREDIBLY helpful as we try to pace our refunds for cash flow. The Event Cancellation Utility is now available. It is an enhanced version of the standard Performance Seat Release Utility. The utility allows you to apply funds from returned tickets to a gift certificate, toward a contribution, or to an on account payment method. The utility includes a review mode so that the results can be verified before it is run.
The Event Cancellation Utility is available as a Shared Report. It will also be included in our next Service Pack along with enhancements like processing bulk credit card refunds and new sample HTML template with refunds.
Note: This utility is temporarily being distributed as a standalone tool to meet the immediate needs of our community. It will be part of the core Tessitura application in versions 15.0.16, 15.1.9, and 16.0.0. This installation is not required if you are running those versions or higher.
For licensees hosted in RAMP, our team will install the Event Cancellation Utility for you. You can request the utility through a support ticket.
For our locally-installed licensees, you download the utility as a shared report under product announcements.

Hope everyone is weathering the crisis as best as you can.
I think we need an ETA from Tessitura for the release of v15.1.9 and the addition of refunding the cancellations to the original payment method. That seems like something VERY necessary for the current situation.
When will v15.1.9 be released? And why can't we get an updated Event Cancellation Utility? It was released as an add-on, so couldn't it be also re-released without having to wait another several weeks?
