From our remote box office, using remote desktop connection, we can't print to local boca and standard printers from Tessitura. We are able to print from other Windows applications using the remote desktop. This only happens at one of our locations (i.e. other locations using the same connection seem to work fine). We can't seenm to narrow in on the problem. Anybody out there using Remote Desktop that has run into this issue before or can provide some tips on how to resolve it?
Thanks!
We print with Bocas using this setup. First of all, you need to make sure the print drivers installed on the server are the same version that is on the local machine.
Another thing to check for is making sure the Printers checkbox is checked on the Local Resources tab under Options...that has gotten us a few times.
Kirk, not an expert at this but make sure in your remote desktop properties that you are mapping local printers. There is a checkbox for this.
Kirk,
There are multiple things one can do, BUT a few sure ways to ensure printing is forwarded correctly is to add a few registry keys. If this does not work, you might have local firewall rules on the client that's blocking printer ports to be forwarded or similar.
From microsoft support:Follow these steps:
This enables all ports on the client to be redirected.
Hope this helps!
Doug
Also to add, do ensure that you do have all print-drivers installed on the Terminal server you are trying to connect to, if you have mostly HP printers, there is a Universal print driver from HP you can install that covers all types of HP printers, ensuring that this problem does not come up again, as long as you use HP printers :)
