Adding credit cards to Transactions tab without authorizing

Hi,

It's been alluded to by some work colleagues that Tessitura expunges newly added credit cards if they are not authorized or assigned to a payment plan within a certain time frame. However, I can't seem to find anyone who knows the exact window or where in Tessitura it is controlled (if it indeed can be.) I added a new credit card to a test constituent a week ago, and it has not disappeared yet. Can anyone confirm?

Thanks

  • Hey Michael,

I've definitely been a "victim" of this auto-delete function at your very org, but I cannot tell you what the window was. It was somewhere between 7 and 60 days... most likely 7 and 30, but my memory is fuzzy.

I can tell you that @ SSO we run a weekly report - Purge Credit Card Account Data. Check out the parameters @ SO. I can't confirm 100% that the procedure is what is deleting CC's with no transaction history, but it seems likely.

Perhaps someone from Tess can confirm.

    Cheers,
    Megan

Thanks Megan! That really helps. At least I know what to look for now:)

  • You can cause credit cards to be purged buy scheduling the standard credit card purge/report utility. This is a good idea to reduce you the number of customers you might expose if you have a PCI related event. The schedule on which the purge process works and the period of time unused cards are kept are controlled by the parameters you set for this report/utility. If you don't have this setup yet do read the documentation and test prior to attempting it's use in your live system.

Thanks everyone. It was just a matter of identifying the name of the utility to look for. Naturally, only our Tess DBA has permissions to modify it, which is why I wasn't seeing it.

  • I believe there is a utility that you schedule which controls this. If you check your scheduled utilities with your DBA, you should should be able to find it and change parameters as you need.
