Hi all!
I have a ticket open with Tessitura about this, but thought I'd post my question here as well! UVA has a student tickets program called "Arts$" that give students access to free tickets for certain performances. Ideally, they would go to the Arts$ page on our website and login with their student information. Once they have logged in, they will be re-directed to the tickets page where the free ticket/Arts$ price type will be activated on certain performances. Apparently this is what they have done in the past--however, I only have experience with typing in promo codes to trigger price types. What do I need to set up in Tessitura and TNEW to make this happen? Does anyone else "hide" their free student price type behind a student login? The student login is not associated with their Tessitura login (if they have one). Thank you for your help in advance!

Hi Olivia!
We have been having this exact same struggle. Our university wants to apply a Single Sign On option to TNEW but we were told that it was not possible by Tessitura. So instead we are providing event links that automatically trigger a promo code by adding ‘?promo=PROMOCODE’ to the end and then promoting those student links on a University-controlled website where Single Sign On is available. However once they follow those links, they will still need to either log on or create an account to complete their purchase.
This is not a perfect set up so I would love to hear others experience with this as well!

Hi, I am newly into my role as a superuser so not sure if these suggestions will be helpful.
The way that I can think is that you use a price rule that is filtered to be used by those with a constituency of "student". So if you can find a way to mark all of the students in your system with a consituency attribute of say "student" then you can set the price rule up only to apply to those people (students) once they have logged in. Then its a case of just keeping the performances that it is applicable to uptodate in the price rule itself as you load them up for sale.
The other way would be to set up a new mode of sale that again is set up for those with constituency attribute "student" and once they log in, they would be pushed into a mode of sale that gives them access to these reduced price types. Again, relying on you being able to mark all your student constituent records with a "student" constituency attribute.
Hi Olivia,We're working on an integration between Tessitura and our student database right now to associate student emails and affiliate status with a discount link. It does require customization work, but I'd be happy to set up a call or zoom with you to explain our process. Please let me know if this is helpful.
Oliva, we have constituencies for our students that are connected to a specific student web mos. We set the constituency up in the TR_Constituency table, LTR_Constituency_Ranks, and finally TR_Web_Ranking. When you setup the MOS you will connect only the price type you want the students to have. If this is confusing we have a Student Constituency that gives students access to a Student Web MOS, which opens up student pricing for them. This is far easier in the long term than offers/promos and pricing rules. Those do work but if this the route long term I would go the constituency route.
