Hello,Does anyone have experience with using a png image on TNEW? I cannot find any information in the TNEW documentation. My events person wants to use an image with a transparent background. So far, I have not been able to achieve this. However, I'm not sure if the issue is with TNEW or with the person supplying the png.Any advice?
Good morning Dana -
It's pretty straightforward to add images via html throughout TNEW. There's not too much specific about how to do this within documentation, but this page does reference png in an example so it seems safe to assume it's a recognized file type: https://www.tessituranetwork.com/TNEW_7/TNEW.htm#Topics/Self-Hosted_Templates.htm.
This file I use across our Account section is a PNG. It does look like the transparent background (right side corner) renders as white though. (Admittedly, I don't have the right software to tell exactly how the file is set up, but knowing our designer and looking at it in a few different ways, I currently assuming the transparent aspect isn't being fully respected. I can't necessarily source this to TNEW though--it could be that, it could be the file, it could be something about how it's coming through from the CDN, etc.)
Jamie
Thanks for the reply, Jamie. I'm pretty sure that the issue is with the CDN link and unfortunately I'm not the person who manages that piece. Also, I have a friend at New Victory! Please be sure to give a hug to Laura Hamilton (or at least cheerfully waive from an appropriate distance if you're not a hugger). :-)Best,Dana
Hi Dana and Jamie! Jamie, I can confirm your "Account Credentials" PNG is rendering properly with a transparent background in the right side corner. Although when you inspect it in Chrome, Chrome fills it in with a white background, this isn't how the image is appearing on the page. I tested by using developer tools to change the background color of the header component and I could see the color through the transparent corner of the image. Dana, I think this may mean that the PNG you've been given is not actually transparent. I would be happy to confirm this if you post a link to it.Chris
Hi Christian,Pretty sure neither of these images is transparent. What do you think?

No, you're right, they aren't transparent. The JPG wouldn't be, in any case, but the PNG could be, if it were created correctly from a file with a transparent background (or no background). Do you have a vector graphic or some other version of that logo without the background? I could create a transparent PNG for you if it would help!
Thank you. No. Not this time. Our graphics people clearly labeled what each image was supposed to be. The PNG even says TRANSP, so my assumption is that the original image is indeed transparent. I believe the issue is at the step where our email/communications person is uploading the file to the CDN. I think I just need access to that step to get it done correctly. But I do appreciate you confirming that I'm not crazy and neither of these images is transparent. I mean I knew the jpg wouldn't be, but thought I might be mistaken about the png. Hooray. I'm, not crazy. (on this one detail at least.)
Haha, no problem! Good luck!
