Bulk Ticket Order Creation from List?

Hello all,

Does anyone know of  way to create bulk Ticket Orders for a specific Perfomance based on a List Manager list?

I am looking for a way to improve the way we ticket our free member events. Currently we manage RSVP via email, then have a printed list given to the box office which prints a big stack of tickets under the General Public record. This is obviously not ideal as we do not get the constituent attendance on their record. But it's also not feasible to have the ticketing staff use a List in List Manager to manually create 100-400 separate Orders.

Best,

Nicholas

  • Hi Nick,

You could probably use the order import utility (Reports / Ticketing Processing folder).  Just make a list of all of your positive RSVPs, and import those IDs into your order import data file….

    Cheers,

    Kathleen

    Hi Nicholas

You could use Order Import to create the orders. Just export the data you need using your List and an output set, fill in the perf detail columns in the spreadsheet, then bring the orders in using Order Import.  SOH does something similar for Opening Night guests - Peter Nelson presented on it at ANZTRUC 2012, I think.

Actually, Peter's prezzo was in 2010 - doesn't time fly when you're having fun?...

  • Great minds Ken.

Nicholas – yes, take a look at the Sydney Opera House’s opening night procedures (which I presented on in my former life).

While the motivation might be a little different the basic processes sound very applicable and are all about seating a list of comps using Order Import.

    Regards

    Peter

  • Agreed - the order import has worked well for us to process large quantities of comps into individual accounts. :)

    Beau.

  • We create general admission events and sell them online and via phone for $0.

That doesn't really answer your question, but it's not hard to set up and gives you the result you want.

  • Great ideas everyone, thank you so much. I will report back with which way we go.

  • Hi ,

I'm interested in your presentation linked below, but can't seem to view it at that link, maybe because I'm not part of the group.  Anyway, do you have it in another location on TN.com? Or able to email it to me?  I'm trying to figure out the best way to go about creating an output set that will give me the closest I can get to the order import headers. Now that I think of it maybe your presentation would be too outdated, because of the v15 updates to list manager... let me know if you have anything else that might help.  Screen shots of output set perhaps?

    Thanks for your time,

  • Hi Kanani

At the time i was working at Sydney Opera House but have been working for the Tessitura Network since 2011, so yes its been a (very long) while!
It does seem the 2010 conference archives are no longer accessible but I'll see what i can dig up. From memory the general principles should still be applicable
