Hey all,
We are replacing our seats in one of our theaters and just found out we now have the "opportunity" to add a partial row behind two sections. We already rolled and invoiced all of our subscribers for the upcoming season into the existing facility that does NOT have the additional seats. We hope to use the existing facility and just modify the map to include the extra seats.
Is this even possible?
If so, does it mess up the history of all performances where this map was used? If it is not possible, any suggestions on how we can make this change and not have to redo all our subscriptions?
BTW, we do have a generic row of standing room built into the facility that we will no longer be using because of this addition.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Tina
Hi Tina,
You can add seats to a facility after it is already in use, and then you can only update performances in the upcoming season to reflect the changes. After you update the facility you need to run an update utility to apply the changes to the existing performances, and there is a season parameter on the utility that allows you to limit which performances are updated. Kevin,
We are finally getting around to doing the the update utilities you suggested and we have a problem. Where the script asks for the "season value", our 2012 Main Stage season ID #256 consists of productions from both the upcoming 2012-13 Theater season and the season we just finished (2011-12) and we only want to change the upcoming performances. The productions can be differentiated by both package season and/or production season. How do we split the season this way in the utility script?
If we change the script to use the Prod Seasons instead, what happens if this script gets run for other purposes? Thanks
I’m not sure about making alterations to the script. Theoretically it’s possible to do what you are proposing, but as this utility makes some pretty fundamental changes to your performance data, I would proceed very cautiously with making any changes to it. I suggest you open a help ticket first so that the support staff can advise you of any potential problems or caveats of making your own version of the utility.
Alternately, if you don’t want to deal with making changes to the script, you could just run it for the season and then use blackout holds to remove the seats from the performances that shouldn’t have the new seats.
Hi Kevin,
Restarting this old thread, but we just went through a situation where our facility is being restructured, but we couldn't get a final blueprint until the day we expected to start seating subscriptions for our next season. I went through the usual steps after the facility had been changed, but we had _deleted_ some seats. The instructions said to use blackouts, of course, but when our Box Office manager looks at the performances in Season Maintenance the seats aren't available to black out, and when she blacks them out in individual performances they seem to pop right back afterwards. What can we do?
Thanks,
Gawain
Hi Gawain,
You should open a help ticket for assistance with this.

Have you assigned zones to these seats for all zone maps on the facility (not just a single zone map)?

Hi,
I am having difficulty adding two seats to each of 8 existing zones in an existing facility. The validation report gives the error that the zones have not been assigned. The map shows the seats numbered, zone applied, and the continuity and best seats. What am I missing.
Thanks.
Ray

Ryan and Curtis,
Thanks for your guidance. I rechecked down the line including sections, and also added the two seats to all zones. Adding to all the zones showed me that I had two different zone maps assigned, when I ran the validation. The zone maps ended up identical and somehow, I got this all to work, and the seats added, with your help.

I am trying to add a seat to an existing facility. The row goes to seat 8 and we now need seat 9. The link in your response no longer exist from 9 yrs ago lol. Can you send me instructions on how this is done. I cannot seem to find it anywhere.
Also i was trying to change the Row description in another location from Row A to Row 0. Can you also assist me with where to update that.
I'm looking at this doc now because the hall is being reconfigured for 22-23. It should cover it. www.tessituranetwork.com/.../Facility_Manager.pdf
