How can I show the text, "Sold Out" by a performance online? I have changed the "Status" to Sold Out in the performance details page but no change shows up online. Our system table LTR_TN_WEB_EXPRESS_CONTENT has a listing for SoldOut_Text as "Sold Out!" but I don't know how to invoke that. Thanks in advance for any advice!
Hi-One possibility (depending on your api setup) is renaming the description under Ticketing Setup/Production Elements/Performances. With out setup, the online event pulls from the (long) description, so changing the title to either 'sold out', or "Title-sold out" will result in only that performance showing up as sold out. This only helps if someone chooses that specific date, but at least get the information to show up online.
Best of luck,
Mark Sackett
Shelley,
Under each of the production levels there is a Content tab. We use the performance level content tab to post messages like sold out on our website. We have set up with our web folks that certain id numbers from TR_INV_CONTENT will populate to specific areas on our website. It sounds like your system table is designed to work with the Content Tab. Can you add the SoldOut_Text to the Content tab on the performance? That might be what you are looking for.

I also need to get a similar fix.
In my online listing it has the name of the show, then a "Purchase" text - even when I've held off all the available seats and switched status to "Sold Out" If I change the name of the show as suggested below the "Purchase" button is still there. I'm sure at some point previously I've seen this change to "Sold Out" but I'm not sure why it's not changing now.
Is it that I have to have sold and printed all tickets?
I have another show that is entirely sold out but again it still has "Purchase" next to the title online.
When you click through the "Purchase" text you get the WEB_CONTENT text (in this case - "sold out please try another performance") but I want to avoid the superfluous step
Any ideas?
Hi Simon,
Just to be clear, I checked and you are using TN Express Web, and some of the previous suggestions in the thread don’t necessarily apply to TN Express Web.
In TN Express Web, the purchase link is never disabled according to availability. It is only disabled and replaced with a message if you take the performance off sale. There are two possible messages that can be displayed, depending on how you take the performance off sale. You can customize the content of the messages with entries in the LTR_TN_EXPRESS_WEB_CONTENT table.
The first message is the NotOnSale_Text. This message is displayed when the current mode of sale for the session exists but is not active (i.e. the current date is outside the MOS active dates).
The second message is the SoldOut_Text. This message is displayed when the On Sale box for a performance is not checked and MOS start date is in the past. Since unchecking the On Sale box locks a performance to all transactions by anyone, it’s pretty rare to use this unless you cancel a performance.
It is also possible to override the purchase link label at the performance level by adding a TN_Express_Buy_Link_Override content entry to the performance. So you could change the label for the performance to “Sold Out” using the content entry, but the link would still be active if someone chose to ignore the label and click it anyway.
You can find all these details and more in the new TN Express Web User Guide. If you want to know where the messaging you see on your site pages comes from, find the corresponding page in the Site Map section of the guide. Each customizable field can be clicked to open a pop up that details where you can customize the message or field. Here’s a link to the one of the single ticket performance page topics so where you can find the sold out message explained. And to read up on the content type you can use to set the purchase link label at the performance level click here.
Oh, and one last thing, the Status field on performances doesn’t do anything. It’s just there for custom reporting (or possibly custom web site coding, but definitely not TN Express Web).

Hi Kevin
This is exactly what I needed! Thanks.
I've gone with the Buy_Link Override option.
We have a promoter who has multiple start times for an event, some of the start time slots are selling well but he wants to push sales towards the quieter ones. The new "purchase" text solution is ideal as we can customise it to just that purpose without making a global change.
Thanks for the very fast reply too!
Simon
As a follow up to Kevin’s response here - I had a question about this with the TNEW team when we recently upgraded to v3. This is the explanation that I received from Karyn Elliott:
After a bit of research, here is what I discovered regarding the Sold Out / Not on Sale messaging in TNEW. Prior to v10, the API didn't actually give us good information about a performance being legitimately sold out or not - it was either on or off sale - based entirely on the MOS start/end dates. The use case in TNEW which drives the appearance of the Sold Out message is - on sale indicator is 'N' but the MOS start / end date include today's date. The only other case is that on sale indicator is 'N' but MOS start / end date excludes today's date - and this drives the 'Not on Sale' message - which is what folks typically see on TNEW.
As of v10 Tessitura, the API gives us access to seat counts per-performance. So, we can add an enhancement request to mind the seat counts to override the 'on sale ind' as the true driver as to whether a performance is sold out. I’m assuming this enhancement is of interest to you, so I’ve added it to the list. The enhancement process will begin in January 2012, so make sure to keep an eye out for it then.
Thanks,
Karyn

Hi Duane,
Thanks for the tip on the upgrade. Sounds like something we'll use a lot.
With multiple dates / start times for a show this will avoid customers having to click into each seat map to see if there are seats available.
Thanks
Remember at this point that it is just an enhancement request. It will be on the list of enhancements that all TNEW users will vote on early next year, so look for it there.
