Hello all!
We recently had an event postponed due to a power outage that has since been rescheduled for this sunday evening and were wondering if anyone has dealt with a similar situation?
If so, would you be willing to share the takeaways from your experience?
We've changed the date of the performance in Tessitura and are hoping we don't need to reprint the PAH tickets that are out there. Thankfully there's only about 100 out there, but I'm worried that there may be some sort of hiccough due to the information embedded in the N-Scan barcode.
Thanks!Short
Thank you, both!
Now I feel more comfortable informing our FOH staff on what to expect the night of. :)
Cheers!Short
Short,
I’m not 100% sure without looking up documentation, but I believe just changing a date does not affect barcodes. The ticket numbers should still be valid. We’ve had this happen before and I believe the tickets we had out scanned just fine with no issues other than performance information being incorrect on the tickets, but the bar codes scanned if I remember correctly.

If for some reason this does not work automatically as Christopher has experienced.
For N-Scan 5.3.1 in the LTR_NScan_Profiles System Table there is a column called perf_no. If you update this with the correct performance number. (Even today for a few minutes.) You can cause any particular Scanner(s) to check for a particular performance regardless of Day. You can get the correct perform number (not performance code) by using the N-Scan Performance Listing report. Once set and saved in the system table re-boot the scanner.
You might find this helpful or comforting on the date of the show.
Just remember to remove this value after the performance. So the next day the scanners get the correct performance.

We have had something like this happen. We just changed the date in the event and they were able to keep their tickets. As long as the "doors open" and "doors close" are the correct NEW date, you should be fine! Feel free to email me with any questions!

Yes, entering the perf_no works when an event date changes and you don't want to reissue tickets. We had to do this for postponed events in December when we had ice storms. If any new tickets are printed with the new date, they will also work because the perf_no does not change. We just had our upgrade to 6.?.? (scanners are in another room and I'm not walking up there to grab one, sorry) and the table name is now TR_NScan_Profiles. Our older version had the LTR prefix and it took some time for us to determine that the upgrade no longer used the previously named one to set the perf nos. We have multiple venues and have to enter the perf nos in our scanners for each show to limit access to the correct venue and level. Hope that helps. Hawana Hawana Townsley House Manager Charles W. We are dealing with this same issue tonight, and we are on NSCAN 6.0.5
It is comforting to see this documentation of your recommendations and experiences Short, Amy, Teresa and Hannah!
Thanks for posting this, Short.
