Hello All,
We have an issue where a subscription renewal was processed as a contribution. I have had the development department place the money on-account but now cannot access the money in the ticketing payment window. When I try to apply the payment method, I receive a message saying the payment amount exceeds credit available amount. The development department has also run out of solutions for me. They say that they are unable to simply return it so I can reenter it.
We are still new-ish on the system so it is possible that I do not have everything set the way it should for this situation.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Sabrina Clark

That message means that the total you’re paying is higher than the available on account credit. You’ll have to make sure you change the amount to pay to equal what you have on account to use up that money.
Hope this helps!
Karen

The only problem is the amount owed equals the amount on-account and I still can't access it.
Sabrina
It could be Security but what you should see when you are in the batch and the payment for example the amount ON – ACCOUNT A ($1,000). And when you take as payment you will enter $1,000.00 and the On Account Payment. If you don’t see the On account with proper amount in the drop down with the Payment Method then it has not been put on account correct and is still with Development.

Sabrina, check that the on account method holding the money may be used in both Contributions and Ticketing. (That’s a setting in the payment method setup screen that is part of the Contributions > References area.)

Leslie and Lucie, you have both gotten me somewhere. There is no proof in the payment screen of the on-account payment even though it shows up in the account itself. The user group that the development staff is using does not have access to the on-account payment type in security however they use the money "deposited" in it daily for box office donations. I am going to check with development to make sure they moved the money correctly also see if they need me to give them access to the payment type.
Thank you so much,
I was incorrect. They do have access to the payment method.

After all of that excitement yesterday, it turns out my issue was that the money was sitting on the household level and the roll over order was on the individual level. Once I moved the order to the household level, I was able to access the on-account money.
Thank you all for your help,
