For some reason Tessitura is not recognizing the printer that I have added in order to print documents within Tessitura. I have tried adding it through "Add a network, wireless, or Bluetooth Printer" which discovers the printer and it works for every other program, and I have also tried "Add a local printer", where I need to add in the port and the model of the printer. That also connects and works in every other program.
With this being said, I have tried to add this printer many times and I am continuing to have this issue. I have tried to add a entirely different printer though "Add a network, wireless, or Bluetooth Printer" and that one works perfectly but that's not the printer that I want to use.
If anyone has any information about this or tips it would be greatly appreciated.
It is an HP printer and I have tried installing the required drivers and no luck.
Couple of questions
Are you trying to print tickets to it or a standard report? Ticket printers need to be "Generic Text" driver
By not recognising, do you mean it's not appearing in the list? Can you see all your other printers in the printer list, not just some of them?
Are you using Terminal Services/RAMP? If you are have you closed and reopened your session and/or set your new printer as your default printer before starting Tessitura.

When I go to File > Print Setup, the printer that I have installed is not there. Same as if I go to, File > Print, the printer I need is not there.
And yes I have tried making it my default printer - more than once. Still no luck.
As Wayne briefly mentioned, if you installed the printer while Tessitura was open, you need to close and re-open the application.
If that doesn't work, a few questions for you...
Is this a local or network printer. What is the make and model of this printer. There might be someone in the community who has that printer installed and running Tessitura.
Do you see the printer object in the Printers and Faxes window(Windows XP) or Devices and Printers (Windows 7)? Can you print from this printer outside of Tessitura?
Is the status of the printer set to "offline"?
If this is a network printer can you check to see if there is anyone else who is having the same problem?
I think this is a good start, to understanding what the circumstance is.
I closed Tessitura before I installed the printer multiple times. I have tried it as a local and a network printer, both of which work in every other program I use (IE: Excel, Word, etc.). Yes I do see the printer in Devices and Printers (Windows 7) and it is online. This is currently the only computer with this problem and no one is sure how to fix it. I have tried restarting my computer multiple times and still nothing.
I was told that I need to restart the computer several times until Tessitura "discovers" the problem but I have restarted approx. 6 times and still nothing.
I wonder if the Printer Name has characters that tessitura doesn't like.
What is the make and model of the printer?
Just a thought….we have had some trouble with USB printers if the printer cable was disconnected from the computer before the PC was shutdown completely. In these instances, I have had to re-install the printer on the pc using a different USB port (USB002, USB003, USB004 etc.). If you have a USB connection to your printer, this might be worth a try.

If not there's a couple of questions on my post above and a few more from people below which may have been missed.
If you click File --> Print from Tessitura AND File --> Print from Word and you get a different list of printers, it would suggest to me you are using Terminal Services/RAMP. The printer can be enabled to print from this, but I don't want to write a long explanation if you don't use this.
If you definitely aren't using T/S I'd suggest deleting and re-adding the printer on your PC with Tessitura closed. Also, if your printers are added at logon time, let your logon script finish before starting Tessitura.
Problem has been solved!
Tried literally everything time and time again, the thing that resolved it was constantly restarting the computer, and finally turning the computer off, disconnecting the power to the computer, and doing a reboot. For whatever reason that worked - perhaps there was a glitch of some sort but I don't think we will ever know.
