Windows 7 x64 Boca Ticket Printing Errors

Hi, i have begon deploying Windows 7 x64 machines and have found it to be imposible to print tickets on new and old Boca printers, regardless of USB, Parallel, Ethernet, and connected through a share or a local port. i am wondering if anyone else has had a problem like this and resolved it, or is not having this problem using the same setup.

  • Hi Mendy,

I had a similar issue using BOCA drivers. Funny enough, I went back to Generic Text drivers and it resolved the issue. Just a thought!

  • Hi David,

when i use the Boca drivers i can test print from windows but tess wont recognize it as a valid ticket printer. and when i use genric text tess starts to print but nothing comes out of the ticket printer, you dont see an entry in the windows printer monitor, and tess never indicates a print activity in the order.

it seem all the parts work by themselves. any two will work together just fine. all three together arnt playing nice.

  • Are the printers connected via USB or via the network on a print server?

  • ive tried every combination. USB, Parallel(no parallel on the win 7 machines), Ethernet, Direct attached, shared, local TCPIP port, Local UNC port.

Yes, we too were able to print ok using Generic drivers on the x64 systems. However, the issue we could not resolve was that Price Types would not show up properly using x64.  I ended up installing x32 on all of our ticket office systems.

  • Have you enabled the USB feature on the Boca itself (I’m guessing you are using a newer model with a small display) ?
