Hi Leslie and Brian,
We ran into this same problem last year with 12.5.1 and opened a ticket with Tessitura. It is a known defect, 65359, and the notes in the open ticket we have indicates it will be resolved in v14 as part of the payment processing updates they are working on.
Thanks,
David

Leslie, Very strange; I just tried to do the same thing and got the same error. I'd pass it along to Tessitura support and see if they're aware and can put a fix in place. Thank you, Brian

We used to be able to inactivate credit cards so they would not appear as a choice when selecting cards. If this is attempted now on a card on an dated credit card we get a message "Invalid expiration date or expired account" - I get that the card can't be charged wondering why we can't drop it from the list of card shown.

David -- Thanks for the update. A reminder to us all to really test even the smallest/simpliest function..

Martin—Could you confirm that the credit card you made inactive had an expiration date in the past - Jan 2017 or prior. If the card you inactivated has a “good” expiration date that would be why you could inactivate.
If it works with an past expiration date then perhaps it was a patch to 12.5 that the rest of us just need to make to our system. We just upgraded in January and it doesn’t work.

Folks, We recently (like last week!) upgraded to v12.5.1 and I just tried it - we're able to make a credit card inactive without any error. Martin
This is to confirm the “bug” is for expired cards. If a card has an active expiration date the system will let you inactivate the card (which is good in the case card theft etc). Old cards with expired expirations dates cannot be inactivated. This will be fixed in v.14

Weird. We're just noticing this problem. For us, it's happening when trying to inactivate cards with valid expiration dates. Wondering if it is due to a recent hotfix we applied.
