Extraction Challanges

We have recently moved to Tessitura V12.1.2.

We are having intermittent problems with Extractions.

We have opened a TASK ticket.

However, we are wondering if folks are running into situations where extractions are failing on the step "Calculating phones, addresses and salutations."  This is not happening on every extraction.  However, extractions of greater than about 20 thousand members from our database of more than 3/4 million accounts fail.  This step is sometimes taking up to 30 minutes.

Any insights would be helpful.

    Hi Tom,

    We had a similar problem and Tessitura worked with us on fixing it.  I believe a union statement was changed in a view.

    The V12.1.2 patch was applied to our LIVE environment this past Tuesday (Jan. 20).

    Today, one of our users reports a similar problem with an extraction.

     

    Prior to the upgrade, the extraction generated ~2000 records and completed in seconds.

    Today, the extraction has been running for over an hour and appears to be struggling with some suppressions.

     

    This is the only extraction we’ve attempted since the upgrade, but Tom’s comment prompted us to also open a TASK ticket.

    I'd like to point your attention to a relevant hotfix, just published this week, and available in solution #82 of the Version Upgrades and Patches workspace on TASK.  The two affected functions were updated in response to issues related to extractions and User Defined Output from a List, but the positive effects will likely be felt in many different reports.

    Recommendation:  This hotfix resolves an issue where extractions and user defined output from a list were running longer in v12 than v11. If your organization is experiencing this error, this hotfix should be applied.

    FS_GET_DEFAULT_VALUE and FT_CONTROL_GROUPS have been optimized to improve the processing speed of Extractions and User-Defined Output from a List.
     
    This hotfix zip contains v1212HF13.sql  To implement, run the sql file contained in the zip as an 'SA' in SSMS on the Impresario database.  Once applied, the following entry will be added to T_UPGRADE_SCRIPT_LOG: script_id 1, version 12.1.2+HF13.
