Rogue GL Code

I'm wondering if anyone can help.

One of our finance team has a mismatch between the figures showing on reports and it is suspected that we may have attributed, at set up, a GL code to one or more price maps used for a different show than the one finance is reporting on.

Is there a quick and simple way of taking a look at all the price maps to which a GL Code is attributed.

Advice appreciated.

If you can identify a single Tessitura post or date range where you feel there may be a rogue g/l, run the transaction by post report (filtered on that specific post/date) and comb through the transactions. That should hopefully point you in the right direction.

  • Hi – we use one of two reports to confirm that GLs have been assigned correctly: Performance Setup Audit Report, which allows you to select the performance(s) you’d like to review based on season, or the Price Map Listing report which allows you to select a zone map by facility and shows you every price map built within that zone map.  Our finance team prefers the second option.

    Good luck!

    Cheers,
    Tal

If you don’t know what date the differences started on I do believe there’s a price map listings report that you can choose. I just ran it as a test and it list all price maps in a facility/zone and shows the GL attached to it.

Thanks for the replies. Considering we use different GL codes for every production and the fact we have  a lot of productions programmed & on sale, many with multiple price types, I was worried it might be a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Fortunately we have found the error and rectified. I do wonder whether it would be possible to have a report which identifies all the instances in which a GL Code is utilised. i.e. you enter the GL Code and the report lists the performances and the prices the GL is attached to.

  • Paul,

We have a custom report that shows GL Audit History.  It displays the activity of the GL (New, Changed, Deleted), what the old GL was and the new GL if changed….and it shows what the record type is (price map, fund, etc) and it looks like the description of the price map or fund.

If you like a sample output, let me know and I’m happy to send and if it’s helpful, we can send you the files for the report.  I don’t believe there is anything hardcoded, so it should be pretty quick and easy to put into your environment.

We used to have a custom report that that was called GL usage. You would enter the GL and it would reflect everywhere in the system that GL was used. I don't know if it still exist. Would need to contact our Tess. Admin.

  • Hi Teresa.

Can we get the same output and files for this custom GL Audit report?

    Thanks.
