Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has any experience in dealing with pending memberships. As I understand it, a pending membership does not become active until the initiation date hits and the expiration date of the current membership expires.
However,I've noticed that many of my pending memberships with initiation dates marked months ago are not activating.
If it's not relying on the initiation date, then what will trigger the pending membership to become active?
Thanks,
Rey
Hi Rey,
I am by no means a Membership guru, but I think you need to run the Membership Update Utility in order for the status to change. You set this to run as a scheduled utility so that your membership do then update automatically. There is documentation in help here: http://www.tessituranetwork.com/Help_System_v121/Tessitura_v121_Left.htm#CSHID=List_Manager|StartTopic=Content%2FList%20Creation%20and%20Management%2FList%20Manager.htm|SkinName=TN Skin

Thank you all for the feedback!
I'll play around with the report in Test and make sure it runs smoothly.
Thanks again!
Rey,
I believe this will update when the Membership Update Utility is run for that date. You can find it under Reports/Membership. We have it scheduled to run nightly.

The Membership Update Utility also has to be run – that uses the initiation date to update the record (inactivate prior and activate pending).
You might want to check membership that should be Lapsed or Dropped. If you see no change there – the update utility is not being run.

I just had this same problem, so I ran the membership update utility for 8/1/2017 (although some of them didn't begin until 9/28/17) and I set the end date for 9/30/2018 and now every single membership says "lapsed." HELP!!!
