Hi everyone,
We did the point update to v15.2.34 last week (we are RAMP/Hosted). Everything looked fine in testing, and as it was "only a service pack update", I didn't really have any qualms about going to Live. Ever since the live update happened, though... users are getting a TON of daily dashboard emails, even if they weren't subbed to them (I have a RIDICULOUS number of them). Support just told me that that's a defect with the upgrade process, that wasn't mentioned ahead of time, and that the onus is on the dashboard owners to check each dash and unsubscribe people. And today, a 3rd party emailed me saying that they were receiving scheduled reports not meant for them. I checked the report schedule, and their email address is not attached to any current schedules. Has anyone else done this service pack update and had it not go smoothly? We've all talked about the many, many issues with v16 update, but I (mistakenly) thought a small service pack update would be smoother...
I did LIVE upgrade to v15.2.34 last night (Hosted) and had ALL dashboards disappear completely...
Yikes. Good to know. We need to do a service pack upgrade soon.
Hi Kathleen (et al) -
We were told just after introducing v15.2.34 to our TEST environment that there were issues with Analytics dashboards that wouldn't be noticeable in TEST. We were also told that there was a workaround for when we introduced this service pack into our PROD environment. We also were told that a fix for the issue would appear in v15.2.35.
Because of this, we decided not to install 34. Tonight they will be returning our TEST environment to v15.2.32 (the version we are on in PROD) and we will forgo any service pack installations until after v15.2.35.
We do service packing on a quarterly basis, so the next round has been deferred until July. Until then we are staying on 32.
All the more reason for us to defer until well after a service pack is out to have it installed.
Ours had all moved over to the left hand side of the screen, but once we opened them, they moved back to the middle (I was less concerned about that issue)
Mine were gone completely. and there are TONS of them.
Kathleen Smith, thank you so much for letting us know! I just happened to spend this morning reviewing the changes from v15.2.32 to v15.2.34 in our test environment and all looks fine, but of course we wouldn't know about any issues with Analytics until we upgraded PROD. Please don't beat yourself up about not catching this in TEST -- there was no way you could! That being said, I treat every service pack upgrade the same as a version upgrade; for us it's the same review and testing process (the SPs just take less time :)) -- but either way Analytics isn't something we can review until the changes hit PROD.
Can someone from TN speak to the Analytics issue? Should we be holding off on moving to v15.2.34 if we use Analytics?
We received a messaged recommending that we skip v15.2.34 because we have the custom RMA cube, but that was the only reason stated. Someone at the last analytic Coffee meeting said that this version actually updates the Sisense version very significantly?
I feel like this happened to us, but we're only on v15.2.32 currently. Perhaps it happened with the v16 upgrade of our Dev system?
I reeeeealllly wish Tessitura were more forthcoming about the issues. I was in desperate need of a data refresh in Test, which was a different version than Live, which is why I went ahead. But I had no idea there were problems with the point update.
Our DEV system sent out an inordinate number of emails tied to dashboards during the v16 upgrade but my impression from what Kathleen is describing above is that this is different. Or not. Hopefully TN can weigh in here.
