Issues with service pack update

Hi everyone,

We did the point update to v15.2.34 last week (we are RAMP/Hosted).  Everything looked fine in testing, and as it was "only a service pack update", I didn't really have any qualms about going to Live.  Ever since the live update happened, though...  users are getting a TON of daily dashboard emails, even if they weren't subbed to them (I have a RIDICULOUS number of them).  Support just told me that that's a defect with the upgrade process, that wasn't mentioned ahead of time, and that the onus is on the dashboard owners to check each dash and unsubscribe people.  And today, a 3rd party emailed me saying that they were receiving scheduled reports not meant for them.  I checked the report schedule, and their email address is not attached to any current schedules.

Has anyone else done this service pack update and had it not go smoothly?  We've all talked about the many, many issues with v16 update, but I (mistakenly) thought a small service pack update would be smoother...

  • Hi Kathleen (et al) -

We were told just after introducing v15.2.34 to our TEST environment that there were issues with Analytics dashboards that wouldn't be noticeable in TEST. We were also told that there was a workaround for when we introduced this service pack into our PROD environment. We also were told that a fix for the issue would appear in v15.2.35.

Because of this, we decided not to install 34. Tonight they will be returning our TEST environment to v15.2.32 (the version we are on in PROD) and we will forgo any service pack installations until after v15.2.35.

We do service packing on a quarterly basis, so the next round has been deferred until July. Until then we are staying on 32.

All the more reason for us to defer until well after a service pack is out to have it installed.

  • I reeeeealllly wish Tessitura were more forthcoming about the issues.  I was in desperate need of a data refresh in Test, which was a different version than Live, which is why I went ahead.  But I had no idea there were problems with the point update.
