Web batch issue during testing of new website

We are in the process of implementing a new website.  Our web tem is testing the web functionality of adding tickets to the cart.

Here is the issue:

We are attempting to do our first 'add to cart' and we are unable to get the add to cart function (reserveTickets) to work. We have checked the following:

1)      Security group is created a valid:

a.       Batch type - default flag is checked for the default batch type in T_Default

b.      MOS - default flag is checked for the default MOS identified in T_Defaults

2)      We called the following API methods

a.       GetNewSessionKey

b.      Setvariable to HSDC Web

c.       Login / Register - the register function is working with the correct T_Default variables..

d.      GetPerformanceEx3

e.      ReserveTicketsEx

We get a response of '0'. We called the 'OrderExists' method and we get 'False'. 'GetCart' also doesn't return any values.

Looking at Tessitura we noticed that there is no Web user batch at this point. Since this is the first time we are attempting to add to cart the developers are wondering if we are missing something in the configuration. How does Tessitura know to create a new batch if there is no previous order to go off of for the rollover validation?

Can anyone provide insight or suggestions?

Sincerely,

Do you have a setting in T_DEFAULTS called Batch Rollover Time? That is when Tessitura will create a new batch. Our time is set for midnight (00:00) and so it closes the existing batch and opens a new batch once a new order is created after that time.

  • Yes, we do have that setting in T_Defaults.  Our batch is set to rollover at 23:45.  We’re wondering if maybe since this is our first ever web batch, we have to manually open one the first time and it will rollover automatically each day after that?  Any idea?

  • Have you tried logging into the client as the web user and creating an order?  That way you can test if it is permission settings within the application or if it is programming within the website/API calls that is causing the hangup.

Can you log into the Tessitura Client as a user in the Web Group, open a batch, create a new ticket order, then add seats to the order?

We often try this to work out permissions issues with the Web Group.
