Ticketing Parking Garage

Has anyone had any success using Tessitura to manage their parking garage/lot? If not Tessitura, what other programs are organizations using? Why did you choose to go with that program? What parts do you really like, what parts do you wish were different? If you are able to speak on these matters would it be okay if I contact you?

Any information is greatly appreciated.

  • Can you give a little more definition to what you mean by "manage your garage"?

We use Tess to sell parking passes to patrons and I'd be happy to chat with you about how we do that!

  • Right now our parking garage is owned and operated by the city.  Hypothetically if we were to gain control of the garage I am researching if Tessitura would be able to handle daily sales and event parking.  Currently our garage is used for daily general public parking (controlled monthly and hourly) and event parking.

We sell parking through Tessitura.  We just send seat books to the vendors who manage the lots that we sell.  We basically sell it like any other performance.

  • We also sell parking to a nearby garage in Tessitura. We build it out in
its own season in a GA house. We sell it by subscriptions only. We also
send the seating book report to the garage as well as print tickets for
    entrance into the garage.

Only event parking for our shows.

Miami Parking Authority manages our main lot, but then there are a few others that we also sell event parking for that are managed by other companies.

  • We sell parking in Tessitura for two garages.  One that is owned by the Kimmel Center and the other is a private garage with an automated entry/exit system.  For the private garage we only sell a certain % of their total capacity.  We’ve developed a real-time, web-based link between Tessitura and the garage’s access control system so whenever we sell a parking pass, the garage’s access control system recognizes the bar code we print on the parking pass and allows entry.  For the Kimmel Center Garage we use printed passes and seating books.  We’re in the process of expanding n-scan down into this garage.

Feel free to contact me for more details.

  • We also sell Parking through Tessitura. We lease spaces from the University accross the road from us and we have a specific facility set up with the number of spaces that we have available to sell for each performance.

We then set up the performances in Tessitura for all the shows that we have parking available for, this means we can send sales report to the college if we need to, and we send them seating books on the day so they know who is coming in to their car park. We also post or HABO a voucher for the customer to collect that they present on the way out of the car park so that the college knows that they have paid.

  • For those of you that use Tessitura for event parking sales what is your process?  Is this option of using Tessitura as a revunue control software only for ADVANCED event parking sales (meaning another system is used for people that pay for parking the night of the performance) or is Tessitura used in the garage on the night of the performance as the main parking management system? Please advise.

    Any input is greatly appreciated!

  • We own our own lot at our main theatre and sell parking in advance of the performance.  We take it off sale at 8pm the night before and run the seating book report for the parking lot attendant.  A physical ticket is sent or PAH to the patron for them to present to the attendant when they arrive.  If they have not purchased in advance and there is still space in the lot they can pay at the lot on the day of.

  • We're launching a parking voucher program. We're purchasing the spaces then selling vouchers to our patrons in Tessitura. I've built a facility and now I'm trying to add a fee but I need to pick a performance. How do I create "performances" for this voucher for the rest of the season and attach the fee to it?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

We have several lots that we sell through Tessitura. We have a separate GA facility and Parking Season for them and build a “Parking” Price Type. Basically it is just like any other GA show with tickets printed from Tessitura and everything. I’m sure you will receive responses from other people that handle it differently.
