Amount off order?

Marketing wants to offer a promotion where its a specific dollar value off of an entire order. I can't figure out how to do this. I was thinking about making a negative fee, but you can't use a negative fee amount.  Any ideas as to how to make this work?

Thanks!

You could either do a variable price ticket where you reduce the ticket prices or expense the $20 to a marketing  GL, but I think those are the only ways to do something like that.

  • Hi Amy,

In v10 there isn’t a great way to do it.  You can make it work using editable pricing, but your box office staff will have to manually calculate how to distribute the discount across the tickets in the order.

In v11, though, there is a new feature called Allocate Price, which you can use to set a price for the order as a whole and then it will automatically distribute that price among the tickets in the order.  You can read about it here under the Editing the Total Ticket Price heading.

With either option, you can’t do it on the web without adding some custom logic to your website to manage when to apply the discount.
