Hello! I'm hoping to find someone who is super-fluent in order imports who might hold my hand and walk me through the process in our Test environment.
The backstory is that this is related to gating our digital content. We want to sell a virtual thing, but make it available to our subscribers for free. My understanding regarding gating is that the virtual thing needs to be in your account for you to have access to it, so I am trying to skip the part where you, a subscriber, has to go through the purchase path for this free-to-you virtual thing.
Oh, and to any Tessitura team folks out there, this might be a good pop-up skill builder topic...
Thanks so much! And be well.
Lesley
yep! are you RAMP??
Kara is ramp though so you might be helping her!
all we got was a different error message
I have seen one of those errors before! Have you had to import a .xml file into tess before?
For me, I had to save the file in a very specific way for tess to recognize it as an .xml file. I think I had to copy my code from my original file, paste it into an empty query screen in ssms, and save it as an .xml file that way for it to work. I couldn't get it to work by saving it in notepad.
we have not imported orders since our original conversion in 2003. we can give the ssms route a shot!
and by "we" I mean Ashley!
That's been us ever since Citrix. I forget that people use Windows Auth
Just take the Windows auth out of your account in Security settings - relogin - and give it a burl
If you get stuck further along the way to success just holler. Some of the error messages are a little unhelpful and there are plenty of us who have run that gauntlet of tiny errors in the data that roadblock you (I'm looking at you Incorrectly reformatted excel date!!)
The helpdesk just confirm this! Full disclosure I looks at my ticket with them before I came back to this post, but now it is confirmed by two different sources. Thanks!
Ashley
An update for those paying attention: after at least 40 hours of time and literally 60+ attempts, we achieved success last night! We got really close several times, but in attempts to fix that, broke other stuff. We ended up with a message that "the import file data may be out of sync with the specified format file" so scrapped everything and started over. That, plus the creation of an "Import" user without Windows Authentication seemed to do the trick!
Now, on to the live system...
Thanks for all your help!
Congratulations! Tenacity wins!
the import file data may be out of sync with the specified format file is usually too many columns for me (Damn you Street3!) or a kooky format throwing it out (Who put tabs and commas in the notes field again!!!). A judicious look using filters usually helps me out.
I've turned off Windows Auth from my account these days as I'm importing a couple times a day.
Congrats!
