Hello! I'm hoping to find someone who is super-fluent in order imports who might hold my hand and walk me through the process in our Test environment.
The backstory is that this is related to gating our digital content. We want to sell a virtual thing, but make it available to our subscribers for free. My understanding regarding gating is that the virtual thing needs to be in your account for you to have access to it, so I am trying to skip the part where you, a subscriber, has to go through the purchase path for this free-to-you virtual thing.
Oh, and to any Tessitura team folks out there, this might be a good pop-up skill builder topic...
Thanks so much! And be well.
Lesley
Hi Lesley! We are in fact going to do a pop up skill builder on the Order Import Utility next week! Watch for the registration details to be posted soon. You’ll learn the mechanics of the Order Import Utility; although our use case example might be slightly different from yours here, I’m sure you can adapt it for your use case.
Thank you Michael - this is excellent!
Hi all,
Well, we've read all of the documentation we can find, watched webinars including this morning's pop-up skill builder, and filed a help ticket with no real success on order imports.
Kara Kovermanfrom Opera Theatre Saint Louis and I have been working together for a week trying to get through this, along with Ashley Elliott (Past Member) our DBA, and really aren't making much progress at all. Well, I guess that's not true - at least today we finally got this error message:
Any suggestions?? Thanks so much!
Silly question, but are you including the file name in your extension? Based on that error, it seems like you might not be doing that. After IMPORTS\ there should be a file name (i.e. order_import.txt).
Jordan,
That is not a silly question, but the documentation says it is supposed to be the folder.
We can try it with the full path (although I think we already did) and see what happens. I
Oh weird. It seems like most imports need a file name. Have you double checked that spelling/case/format of your file path is correct? Is your file type correct?
Also, have you tried changing the file name? It might be that the file name you are currently using has been used before, and it doesn't want to be used because of that?
Good thought, but even with the full file name, I still get the same error:
The file type is .txt.
We tried \\tessitura-12x\Impftp\IMPORTS\
We also tried \\tessitura-12x\Impftp\IMPORTS
and after your suggestion we tried \\tessitura-12x\Impftp\IMPORTS\Order import data file FULL.txt
Our Tess server is named TESSITURA-12X. The case isn't preventing extractions from makeing it to Wordfly in T_DEFAULTS where we have TMS_Extraction_Output set as \\tessitura-12x\Impftp\Extract\test
HOLD UP! LOL I think I just figured something out as I was typing all that ^^^^
give me se second...

Ours was \\apramp\pub\SYDN\Live\Impftp\Import\STC\ (which reminds me I should change that now we are on AWS)
Shouldn't yours be \\kriostess\pub\####\Live\User Reports\Impftp\sub-folder name
Of course you are self hosted!
We have two different ImpFTP foders. The one that eh extractions goes to is where we need to put this file.
So did you get it to work?
not yet...
Nope! didn't work, but we got a new error:
4861 Error reading format file \\tessitura-12x\Impftp\IMPORTS\FormatFile\OrderImportStandartFormat2.xml- Cannot bulk load because the file "\\tessitura-12x\Impftp\IMPORTS\FormatFile\OrderImportStandartFormat2.xml" could not be opened. Operating system error code 5(Access is denied.).50000 Import failed for Order import data file FULL.txt. TP_ORDER_IMPORT_MAIN halted.
