Hi Everyone,
I have been tasked with a research project and am trying to identify and hear experiences from those organizations running multiple ticketing services at the same time, whether it be for different venues, presenters, etc. So basically running Tessitura and another platform. I'd love to talk offline with those people as well on the topic.
Secondly, I am happy to take any and all comments, thoughts, and suggestions about running separate services in a single organization, even if you have never done so. Would you consider using separate services for different venues? What are the benefits and hindrances in your opinion?
Any and all input is very welcome on the topic. Thank you!
Curtis,
We're in kind of the situation you describe insomuch as we have to ticket through ProVenue (because that's what our local Performing Arts Center uses) but we do just about everything else through Tessitura, including ticketing for our special events and for our Center for Dance Education.
In a perfect world, we wouldn't have to split everything out over multiple platforms; we're actually to the point now where we will be able to import our performance ticketing data into Tessitura after productions close, which will allow us (for the first time) to access all of the relevant data about our constituents in one platform. Unfortunately, we won't ever be able to reflect live ticketing for upcoming performances due to the limitations of the import process and our ability to throw manpower at it.
Happy to answer any questions or converse further on the topic.
Thank you,
Brian
Hey Curtis,
Arts Centre Melbourne has its own Tessitura license as its primary Box Office. We also have a range of presenting partners that sell single tickets and subscriptions through their own separate Tessitura licenses. We also provide an allocation to Ticketmaster for most commercial events.
Our largest venue has a capacity of up to 20,000 and this venue is contracted with a 100% allocation to Ticketmaster - mainly due to their ability to handle a large on-sale and their database coverage to suit the commercial product staged (Flume, Tame Impala, Florence & The Machine, etc.). We do plan to in the future start selling this venue through Tessitura, but we're not quite ready yet.
Sharing of customer and transnational data both ways is an important factor in the allocations that we allow. We are working on a large scale project to try and automate order imports so that our Tessitura database contains all information from all systems selling tickets for reporting, analytics and customer service.
Happy to talk offline about how all of this works both strategically and operationally for us.
