We are thinking about doing a promotion during our renewal campaign. We would offer a $20 Amazon.com Gift Card to any subscriber that renews by a certain date. Has anybody every done anything like this before?
Gregory,
We've done some similar promotions in the past; not specifically an Amazon.com gift card, but (as one example) we've partnered with local chocolatiers to purchase bonbons in bulk and offer them as incentives for subscribers renewing by a certain date.
I've also personally tried to spur renewals to our Barre Society membership group by offering an entry to win a pair of free tickets to The Nutcracker (which is the only show not including in a usual Barre Society subscription) to anyone who renews by a set date.
I haven't done it often enough (I'll only be celebrating my second "work-a-versary" next month) to know how much of an impact it has, but the promotions are definitely noticed by our patrons.
Thank you,
Brian
Hi Gregory,
Like Brian, we haven't offered a gift card from another company, but we do offer an Early Bird gift every season as incentive to renew/buy within the first 4 weeks of launch. Pen, tote bag, umbrella, cork backed coasters - many items throughout the years - all TSO branded. You're able to buy the gift cards in bulk at a reduced rate? Sounds like a great idea - everyone uses Amazon for something. :)
Similar to responses above, we too have done some sort of gift for subscribers who renew during our "early bird" period. We have offered chocolates, wine, tea, mugs, etc., but have found the most success with offering a ticket "voucher" good for one ticket to any of our 2017 main stage productions that they redeem over the phone.
While the idea of an Amazon gift card sounds intriguing to me (I love it!), based upon the age range of our constituency, we find the vast majority of our subscriber base appreciates a "gift" that does not require the use of a computer to redeem/navigate.
Still... would love to hear others' successes on this subject. Cheers!
