Ability to pull comps with specific locations for a season

Good afternoon, I am about to setup our upcoming season and we have "pulls" which are comp tickets where certain departments are entitled to specific locations.  Is there a way to select all the dates and select the locations without having to enter the individual date in the sub line item?  We would also need the ability to choose the "reason" for the company pulls.  Thanks for your assistance!

  • Hi James,

Instead of pre-pulling them you could create holds that are specific to the departments they go to. If that department has ticketing access, they can then "sell" them as needed. That way the tickets are held but aren't pulled until they are needed.

  • Hello James:
I may have misunderstood your area of concern, but on the chance I did not, here's my response:

We have a similar situation with our General Director's box.  We've built a fixed seat package type called 'Utility - Do Not Renew' and put in a fixed seat performance group with all performances that will utilize those seats.

The performance group must be built with only the dates on which we plan to use the box.

The fixed seat package is named with the same name as the package type: 'Utility - Do Not Renew'.

When we are ready to pull the tickets, we simply choose them from the package on a single line item and pull the tickets for the entire season.

Please call if you have any questions.

    Kindly,

    Mark

  • Thank you everyone for your replies.  I guess what i am asking is, is there the ability when making up a new package the ability to utilize complimentary as a price type?  It kept on saying error.  I can only assume that it was because i could not enter in the comp reason.  I am basically looking to pull the same locations for the entire season for the numerous departments at the Met.  I like your idea Mark.  It seems like a very straight forward plan.  The problem i face is some departments might not like the "change" that would be involved.  Once again thank you everyone for your insight!

  • Hello James:
We utilize 'Comp' price type for these. You simply add the price type to the package on the Price Type/Keyword/MOS page.

If you like, you can use a secondary comp price type (AdminComp) that does not need a reason. ...but upper staff members generally like to see a reason.

I wanted to mention that we have a hold code map that applies the General Director's hold to these seats en masse before we begin seating. Like Christopher mentioned, we want to protect them before we sell them.

    Best of luck!

    -Mark

  • Did you add the comp price type to the package along with the other price types? We have comp subscriptions in our packages and they work just fine. You also have to make sure that the comp price type you are using is given access to the user groups selling and the MOS you are selling packages to as well.
