Hi all,
Let's say, as an example, I have $1000 in grant income. I want any user to be able to use that money for any patron. I'm assuming that "On Account" is not really a viable option, since I want it to be available to multiple patrons.
Does anyone have a creative solution for me??
Thanks, as always, for your wisdom!
Best,
Lesley
Gift Certificate was going to be my suggestion as well. It is easy enough to create an internal promotional/grant/etc.. payment method to pay for said Gift Certificate. We have just recently done something similar for a promotion with our Black Friday sale this year.
A gift certificate was certainly under consideration, but I thought it would be kind of unwieldy for the sales team to keep track of the gift certificate numbers, especially if there was more than one of these at a time.
You could create a gift certificate. That way you can share the certificate number to be used and it can also be tracked the granting organization for use.

Thanks, Christopher and John, for the input! We'll start with one gift certificate and see how it works.
The way around this is to let your sales team know to which account the GC is assigned. Then can then go there and find it. If there are going to be many of these GC’s you could create a sales note for the performance it can be used on that simply says what the GC number is. The sales note can either be mandatory or not depending on how you structure it. You could also use CSI’s that are assigned to that team so they know what’s going on as well regarding this special use GC.
