Hi Tessiturians,
Just figured I throw this out to the forum before I open a ticket in case it's a fairly simple fix.
A few of my coworkers have reports that they have had scheduled for several months. Generally, they have worked fine but for the last two days they haven't run at the scheduled time. We've checked the report schedules and nothing appears to have changed that would cause them to run at a different time.
Most of these reports are scheduled after working hours (many around the midnight mark) and don't seem to run until the next day during the afternoon sometime.
It's not just a delay in the email being received. We've checked View Reports and it shows that the report did run at the time it emailed.
So my assumption is that something changed within Tessitura's set up somewhere to cause this report randomness. I just can't figure out where!
Has this happened to anyone else? If so, how did you fix it?
This has not happened to us, but I wonder if the time on your report server has suddenly changed. Perhaps the server thinks it has relocated to the other side of the globe?
The only times that's happened here is when one particular report were stuck for some reason then subsequent schedules would not go through until after that one were cleared. But I don't think that's something that'd resolve on its own and I'm guessing you would've mentioned if something like that had also happened on the same days the delays happened? So that may not be your issue.
The other thing I will chime in here is we've found that if it is an emailed report to a group of people and one email is suddenly no longer valid (someone left the organization) the whole report won't email. You didn't say how this report was being delivered and if it was going to multiple people, but it another thing to check!

Hi everyone!
Thanks for the responses.
I don't see anything wrong with the server time. Also, I think that if it was just the server time as the issue then all of the reports scheduled at the same time would arrive all together (at the same wrong time). Which isn't the case. They all run at different times.
We did check the report server log. It doesn't even look like they attempted to run at the correct time. They ran and emailed at completely the wrong time all on their own. I don't see any reports taking an exceptionally long time to run which would cause a delay for other reports. I also forced a couple of them to run from the report server and they ran/emailed within a minute or less.
They are also only scheduled to run to one person and we haven't recently had any login's inactivated.
I'm hoping to get a chance to stop and restart the report server at some point soon to see if that fixes things.
Oye! Thanks for the suggestions guys. It's always helpful to get outside opinions on what the problem might be. :)
I'm pretty sure I've been told to avoid scheduling a bunch of reports to run at exactly the same time. If these delayed ones are all scheduled for the same time, you might try changing the schedules so they're maybe more like five minutes apart and see if it makes a difference.
That makes a lot of sense. It isn't just the reports scheduled at the same time that are the problem, but it might be causing problems in the bigger picture.
I've asked people with multiple reports scheduled to spread them out and we'll see if that solves the problem.
Thanks for the suggestion!
In a similar vein check to see if you have any other server jobs occurring at the same time as the problem reports. I believe we've seen things like backups interfere in the past.
