Hi, I'm having trouble tracking down how Tessitura determinces the End Date for new constituencies. We're getting new 'Current Donor' constituecies created without an End Date, which causes trouble because they never show up as being inactive.
Here's what we see happening. A new donation comes in for a constituent, and it creates a membership. The membership is set up to generate a constituency, which it does successfully except the constituency's End Date is set to 00/00/00.
For the membership level we tested, we have the following settings..
Suspend: blank
Cancel: blank
Expires: 13
Renew: 4
Lapse: 3
Reinstate: 22
I'd appreciate any help here.
Thanks,
John
John,
Constituencies that are created as the result of a Membership always show with a blank end date as long as the Membership is still active or lapsed. Once the Membership becomes inactive or is deactivated, an end date will be created for the constituency.Dale
Thanks Dale. That helps. It sounds like I might need to write a custom job to generate constituencies for active memberships.

John, from what you say, it sounds as if the membership constituencies will get their end date 3 months after their expiration date—as soon as the membership’s lapse period ends—assuming you run the membership update procedure nightly.
Lucie
John, the system will take care of creating and inactivating constituencies quite well unless you want your constituencies to expire when the membership expires rather than when the membership becomes inactive. Depends on what your Development people prefer. Dale
Dale – Thanks for clarifying. Not sure why I thought I needed a custom job (I think I read your response in a rush before a meeting).

Thanks Lucie – that helps. I’ll talk this over with our dev staff and make sure it’s working the way they want.
