Help System PDFs - Not Accessible on Website?

Hello - for internal staff training, I have found that referring folks to the help system PDFs has been really useful, but I cannot navigate to them on the TN site. Does anyone know where they live or if TN took them down?

I know the knowledge base is active, but sending a PDF has been less intimidating to users who I have worked with. Will miss them if they're gone!

Thank you - Tele

  • Hi Tele,

Here's the link I have the link saved in my favourites: https://www.tessituranetwork.com/Support/Resources/HelpPDFs   It's seems to still be active, but hard to find on the site.

    Happy training!

  • Hi Tele,

We have actually been phasing out posting the PDF versions of the documentation, as they don't get used often and can easily become stale and out of date after being downloaded. The online help system, https://www.tessituranetwork.com/Help_System/Tessitura.htm, is updated regularly with corrections and new content and also offers a much more robust set of cross referencing functionality between related topics than is possible with PDFs. The online help also make it much easier to share links directly to specific pieces of information through links to topics rather than to the the broader, higher level groupings of information gathered in a PDF. I also wanted to clarify that the knowledgebase is something different than the online help system. The knowledgebase is accessed through the helpdesk and is a collection of FAQ and support question articles. The online help system is the comprehensive application documentation.

If you find you still need a PDF copy of a piece of the documentation, you can request it on-demand by emailing learning@tessituranetwork.com. We can also provide the documentation in Word format if want to use it as the basis for custom documentation. When you make such a request, identify the topical area you are interested in (performance setup, contribution processing, Tessitura Analytics, etc.).

If you have feedback on what your users find intimidating about the help system or suggestions about how we could make it easier for them to use, we'd love to hear that too!

  • Hi Kevin,

One suggestion that I think would be welcome by all is to fix the Release Notes and Known Issues so they can be exported to Excel. You can’t export or print them, which makes them difficult to take offline or break up into smaller subsets and disseminate them to key personnel. Realizing this may be a limitation of the site itself, maybe make Excel versions available in addition to the web page versions. With the Excel files I could easily filter for just REST stuff and send a relevant subset to our Web Developer so he can test his code before an upgrade to Production. Now, it’s not so easy.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Jerry,

The 3rd party tool we are using to automate the release notes and defect list does not currently offer a download to Excel option. However, you can copy and paste them into an Excel sheet. We recommend using the column filters first to narrow the rows down to those you want to focus on, set the Records Displayed to 500 (which is the Max), then select the table from the top left down to the bottom right. From there you can copy and paste into Excel.

For the REST API, there is also a changelog built directly into the service help pages. You can either access it directly in your organization's REST instance, or you can access the instance we post on the Tessitura Network website to make the REST API help pages available to people who do not have access to an organization's specific instances of the API. You can access that instance from the product page for each Tessitura version. Here's a direct link to the v15.1 REST API: https://www.tessituranetwork.com/en/Files/Misc/Links/REST-API-Help-v15_1
