Anyone else currently unable to process credit cards? Tried calling Vantiv - getting a literal busy signal. I didn't even know that was possible.
We can get auths in Pittsburgh!
Also, thought I'd mention (and likely you all have something similar in place), long ago we set up "No Auth" payment methods so when this happens we can at least capture a credit card number in Tessitura securely. They usually are inactive, but I can activate them with a quick query in SSMS. Then when we can get auths again, we reverse the "No Auth" payment with the "Authorizing" payment.
> We were down approximately from 4:06pm - 5:25pm Central time.
Similarly here: errors in the logs from 4:07PM to 5:15PM (CT), and briefly again from 6:43PM to 6:51.
I noticed on the Vantiv portal that not even reporting was available during the outage. Their customer service didn't appear to know an outage was happening. No status e-mails from them, though they once insisted we were on a list for that.
My opinion of Vantiv has sunk to cable company depths. We'll be looking at Payment Express at some point soon. If they respond at all to attempts at communication they will be miles ahead of Vantiv from the start.
Hi Nancy,
Could you explain more about the "No Auth" payment methods? We don't have anything like this set up, but it sounds like something I should explore for these situations! If you're entering an unauthorized payment, how do you see that card number again later to enter it with the authorized payment method?
Thanks for the help!
Dorothy
