Anyone else currently unable to process credit cards? Tried calling Vantiv - getting a literal busy signal. I didn't even know that was possible.
Yes. We’ve been dropping Payment Gateway connections since about 4:25 PM Central time. Getting the following error in the logs…
“Authentication failed because the remote party has closed the transport stream”

Same here in Pittsburgh!
We're back (in Vancouver). Thanks for starting this thread.
We're back & able to process credit cards as well in Minnesota.
Not sure if it's permanent, but at least it's back (after an hour and a half outage, and busy signal on phone the entire time, and no web messaging from Vantiv. )
We were down approximately from 4:06pm - 5:25pm Central time.

Similarly here: errors in the logs from 4:07PM to 5:15PM (CT), and briefly again from 6:43PM to 6:51.
I noticed on the Vantiv portal that not even reporting was available during the outage. Their customer service didn't appear to know an outage was happening. No status e-mails from them, though they once insisted we were on a list for that.
My opinion of Vantiv has sunk to cable company depths. We'll be looking at Payment Express at some point soon. If they respond at all to attempts at communication they will be miles ahead of Vantiv from the start.
