Xenapp for iOS

Have any RAMP users who have converted to Xenapp been able to successfully run applications on iOS devices? I got the Citrix Receiver installed, and can bring up the app screen, but when I launch any of the applications themselves (Tessitura client, Password Reset Tool, security module, etc.), it spins as if to launch, but the application never opens.

I know RAMP has said that they don’t officially support Xenapp on iOS devices, but quite a number of staff use iPads to access Tessitura, including me – I don’t travel with a notebook anymore, only with my iPad. And if I can’t access my RAMP tools when I’m out of the office, it will have serious consequences.

  • With the new flurry of activity on this topic that I commented on over a year ago, I actually have new information on this that contradicts my initial response haha.

I have an iPad Pro and I actually have been able to access the full Tessitura application through it.

I downloaded the Citrix Receiver app https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/citrix-receiver/id363501921?mt=8 and then I go to https://naramp.tessituranetwork.com to provide my Login Name, Password, and 6 Digit Code from Token per usual.

That grants me access to the usual RAMP screen of available apps, and I click on Tessitura - LIVE and when the .ica file opens, there's a prompt to Open in "Receiver" which then opens Tessitura as expected, and it's the full-featured version of the application.

I actually decided that TLCC 2017 was going to be my test run of not hauling the bulky laptop and instead just bringing my iPad (knowing that I might need to access Tessitura to provide support from away), and it worked beautifully.

    Thank you,

    Brian

  • Hi there,

I'm trying to do the same thing on APRAMP but can't get the .ica file to open and request to go to open "receiver".

Was there any magic involved in getting that popup? Which browser on iOS were you using at the time?

    Cheers,

    Paul
