Hi everyone. I have a Windows Server 2012 R2 system I'm testing right now to see how Tessitura and that OS work together. I've run into a few snags and wanted to ask about one of them.
For some reason generic text only printers do not show up in the Tessitura RemoteApp program as available ticket printers. If I go to File > Printer Setup it shows up in there but if I go to Tools > Preferences there are no options for me to choose from in the Default Ticket Printer drop-down.
I've verified that there's a Generic Text Only printer driver for 32-bit and 64-bit OS's in Print Management on the server. I can't figure out what it is that's keeping these types of printers from being available to Tessitura as ticket printers.
Any ideas?
Anyone?
Hi Jon,
Can you check how many printer queues do you have? I noticed if you have multiple queues for your printer Tessitura unable to see printer.
Best regards,
Dmitrij
Hi Dmitrij. How many printer queues I have where? On the server or on my computer? There are none on the server. The drivers have been installed on the server, the x86 and x64 versions of the generic text only driver, but there are no printer queues on the server itself.
I assume you using remote app? if this correct printers should have been added to the server.
Unless your printers are usb connected and you just do redirect then it could be easy print driver issue

Hi Jon – sounds to me like you’ve got a problem similar to one I was experiencing about a year ago. See this thread: http://www.tessituranetwork.com/Community/forums/p/10958/33899.aspx
Hope that helps! J

Hi Dmitrij. Thanks for the reply and the idea. I have only one printer queue for a boca printer on my computer and it's not coming through. In my case it's a local printer that I setup using the Print to File option (so I don't actually have a printer to print to). However, this problem is happening with everyone whether they have a USB boca, a parallel boca, a serial boca, or a network boca. It's really quite bizarre. I didn't have this problem at all with Server 2008 R2, but I've had this problem from the get-go with Server 2012 R2.
Any additional thoughts or ideas?
Hi Patrick. Thanks for the reply. In your final post at that link you said that disabling group print did the trick. What did you mean by "group print"?
Okay, that makes more sense. :)
I'll let you know if that works!
Sorry, that must have been a typo on my part. We disabled easy print as suggested by Jeanne DeVore. It was something I had to have my IT consultant do, although I am sure there are IT types on the forum here who could tell you how it works.
