NScan Trigger malfunction

We have MC70 scanners. I think a couple of them did not get put on the chargers and went dead. Now they don't remember how to interface with the trigger. I think there is a setting somewhere in Windows Mobile but I can't seem to find it.

If anyone knows where to go to turn the trigger back on, please respond.

Thanks,

  • Hi Hawana,

I’m not sure if this will help, we have the MC75 units.

It may be that the scanner dropdown has been reset?  Try opening the N-Scan application, click Tools and then select Admin Settings. You will be prompted for a password.  After entering the password, go to the System tab.  Beneath the URL for the N-Scan service there should be a line called scanner, the dropdown setting should be set to symbol.

    It’s worth a try!

    Cheers!

  • Dumb question but have you tried a cold reset yet? I've had problems with these scanners before (notably the backlight going out) and the only solution is to cold reset it with the button combo. No mix of soft restarts, battery removal or shutdowns besides the cold reset seems to help.

  • Alas, that was not it but is one of those little known items that are not easy to find and I have saved your great instructions.

I've changed out triggers so it is not that either.
    Any other advice?

  • Not a dumb question because I didn't consider that option.
That's probably the only thing I have not done. Now to go look up the button combo.
I do it so rarely, it is not in my brain at all times.

    Thank you, Chris!

  • Hi Hawana,

You might also try posting this in the N-Scan Group to see if it gets traction there as well.
