Recycle of App pool in version 12.1

Hello ever since we upgraded to version 12.1 we find that ever now and again our box office staff will get locked up while they are in a order and in order for people to work we have to recycle the app. pool on our API server.

Has anyone else experienced this problem

Thanks

Bob

  • Bob,

    We experience this as well.

  • Hi Bob,

Yes, we experience this as well, although it doesn't happen often. This occurs despite the fact that we do a scheduled recycle of the app pool daily at midnight.

I'll have to look more closely at 12.1.2 given what Teresa reported. I wasn't aware it contained a fix for this issue.

    Thanks,
    David

  • Hi all,

Just a quick follow-up on this... I missed this in my initial review of the v12.1.2 changes, but here is a portion of the v12.1.2 solution #80 description in TASK relevant to this issue; thanks to Karen Sterkowicz for pointing this out to me:

v12.1.2 contains a fix for the NHibernate platform (on which the Tessitura services are built) to resolve an issue where users may randomly encounter an “Invalid Column Name” error while performing various functions in the application that has required an application pool recycle to resolve.

We're now going to look at deploying 12.1.2 in the near future.

    Thanks,
    David

  • Hello All,

As David pointed out, v12.1.2 contains a fix for the NHibernate platform (on which the Tessitura services are built) to resolve an issue where users may randomly encounter an “Invalid Column Name” error while performing various functions in the application that has required an application pool recycle to resolve. If your organization is encountering this issue, you should consider installing this release. Additionally, the v12.1.2 release contains all previously posted hotfixes for v12.1

Bob, there is a v12 general CLR removal hotfix that reverts SOAP pricing away from CLR/REST to the original stored procedures and improves best seating in some cases. This hotfix can be applied to v12.0.3, v12.1.0 and v12.1.2 systems. This hotfix is posted in TASK Solution # 82 titled "v12.1.2 General Release Hotfixes" in the "Version Upgrades and Patches" workspace.

If both of these are applied and you are still seeing issues please open a support ticket.

    Thanks,

    Chris

  • Bob,

We had this issue as well.  There is a new patch for 12.1 (12.1.2 I believe) that has resolved this issue for us.  We are RAMP clients, so they installed the patch for me, so unfortunately I don’t have any other details.  You might want to check TASK for the patch files though and see if that resolves the issue for you.

Information on the patch can be found here.

    Hope this helps.
