Extractions - Email subscriptions date

Hi,

If I want to pull an Extraction of people who signed up to receive eNews between dates X and Y, what criteria would I need to put before 'Between - X AND Y' in the Extraction segment to get this info?

Thanks,
Sam, Theatre Royal

  • Hi Sam,

That depends on how you are recording sign ups for your eNews.  Are you using an attribute, a CSI, something else?

  • Hi Sam,

If you use CSI's you'll need to include the Activity Type and possibly the Category as well as the CSI date range.
All these can be found in the Customer Service Issues criteria folder.

So for example if the category is something like "Email Contact" and within that category is a activity type of "eNews" you would set up your criteria like so...

    CSI Category IN Email Contact
    CSI Activity Type IN eNews
CSI Date BETWEEN X AND Y

Depending on how your activity types are set up and named you may not need the category but might as well toss it in.

    Does that help?

  • Hi Sam,

The key to building any list or extraction is knowing where the data you need is stored in Tessitura.  You have to know for sure whether you are recording opt-ins for your email as an attribute or a CSI (customer service issue) so that you can use the correct criteria.  Everyone keeps track of this information a little differently, so there is no standard answer to your question.

Assuming that you actually are using CSIs, you can find CSI criteria in the Customer Service Issues folder.  To look at the date when people signed up for your email list you would use the CSI Date criterion, the Between operator, and the X and Y dates.  That will give you anyone with a CSI created within the date range you enter.  To limit the CSIs to only those created for email signups you should also add either the CSI Category or CSI Activity Type criteria, and select whatever values you are using to indicate that the CSI is for email signups.  Keep in mind all of this will only work if you actually are using CSIs for your email signups.

If you are using attributes or something else, you may actually need new criteria added to Tessitura to look at the date people are signing up.  There’s also a small chance you can’t build a list based on sign up date if that information is not be recorded by the method you are using to record signups.   It’s hard to say for sure without knowing how you are storing this information.

Here are a few resources (a document and some T-Classes) on lists and extractions that I think will be helpful to you:
