Hi
Im emailing from the Roundhouse in London we run craetive programme for 11-25yrs. I am responible for the educational side of Tessituria. Im currently trying to streamline the way that we do this arcoss our core, outreach and young member programme so that the best data can be pulled for funding reports etc. We are currently having a bit of a total re-vamp of the way our organisation uses the system and I was wondering if I could contact someone who works with Tessituria in a 'educational' way for some advice.
Thanks in advance,
Holly
Holly -
I've worked with Tessitura in an Education setting extensively through previous positions. Would be happy to help! Feel free to ping me off-list with any questions.

Hi Holly,
At the Young Vic we're in the process of integrating our 'Taking Part' department into Tessitura as much as possible. This is definitely an ongoing process, but if there's anything I can help with, please don't hesitate to give me a shout.

Hi Graeme,
What would you advise about adding schools to the database? Can a school record be added with multiple names attached to it , or does each individual teacher need to be added seperately? If this is the case how would you find information about how many tickets a school had bought overall?
Hope that makes sense. I would be glad of any advice

Hi Jean,
I’ve found that one of the most annoying things about using Tessitura is the fact that you can’t add multiple names to organization records. At Wigmore Hall, we currently resolve the problem through having 1 record for each school through which all bookings are taken. The name on the record is either the head teacher or music co-ordinator – whoever we deal with more frequently. Other teachers can then be added as aliases so if you search for them, the school record will still come up, but this means that all your ticket history will be in one place.
Hope that’s helpful! Would be interested to hear other solutions though.
Best wishes,
Kate

Within the Milwaukee Arts Partners consortium we have one “School”-type record that is formatted like a Corporation, and then Teacher-type records formatted like Corporate Contacts. Each individual teacher is associated to their school, and in most cases the orders are sold to the school and special requested to the teacher.
In theory, though, this should all get better with v 11.0.

We work it similarly to Patrick at Milwaukee Rep. Schools records have individual teacher records associated with them. All the bookings live on the school record and we link the teacher's record to the order as well in the 'Custom Data' tab on the order.
This is quite handy because we can also track a teacher if they move schools.
Does that make sense? Let me know if you have any other questions.
Hi Jean
We configure all our custom data tabs using a SQL stored procedure and an InfoMaker object.
There is some documentation on custom tabs stored on the T drive (or your relevant drive):
T:\Documentation\IT and DBA Documentation\Customizations
Hope this helps.
