We have a pledge on which all payments have been made. I need to adjust a portion of the total amount to a different campaign and designation. When I go to do the adjustment and I enter the original source, the box pops up that prompts me to select which gift to adjust, however the one I need to adjust does not appear. I'm not sure why it wouldn't show up or how I can get it to show up so that I can adjust it. Any ideas here on why this might be happening?
That first box that pops up I believe is just open pledges. You should exit out of that, then click the Adjust button and another box should pop up with what you want as an option.
Hi Blair, thanks for your response. I'm sorry, I was a bit inaccurate in my description- it's after I click the Adjust button that the box pops up and the pledge is still not there. There are other completed pledges listed, but not the one I need. Is there a way to open up something that shows completed pledges?
Oh got it. In that case, I'm not entirely sure what the problem is. Sometimes that happens to me if I'm trying to adjust a gift that was created in Ticket Orders rather than Contributions (I have to go through the order itself to adjust it), but I don't think a pledge could have been made that way.
Is it because you are in the individual record rather than the household or vice versa?
That could be related- however the gift is through a DAF, credited to an individual that is also part of a household. I am setting up the adjustment the same as the pledge, with the DAF as the owner and the creditee as initiator. I tried going in through the household account just to see what would happen, but of course the gift did not pop up there either (since it belongs to the DAF.) I can't think of a reason why it won't let me make an adjustment-
John, thanks for you reply. Yes, the campaign (for FY19) is still active, good guess though. I wonder if it has something to do with this: the payments were 2 cents short, so I wrote off the last 2 cents. I wonder if that somehow affected it not showing up, the fact that I wrote off the end? But the rest of the gift is still there...I don't want to re-enter it, sounds like you had some difficulty with that.

My understanding is that once you've written off something (using the write-off utility), you can't edit anything about the contribution/pledge. I'd bet there's a way to force it to change through the back-end, though.
