Am I correct in that there is no way to inactivate or retire a plan from a worker's portfolio? As we get set up to do gift renewals it seems the only way to not see all the old plans is to sort them out by campaign, or maybe status, but I can see that being a big pain in the butt if you have a portfolio with multiple campaigns over multiple years and you need to uncheck all those boxes everytime you load up the portfolio screen.
Are there any plans to automatically retire plans based on plan end date or campaign year end date or with a manual step update somehow?
I would also like to know about this! I haven't seen any way to do this and it highly discourages our Exec Dir and Development Officers from using Plans. They are completely overwhelmed by the number of old Plans in there, and there is no way they will filter out all of those Campaigns every single time they open their Portfolio.
Unchecking the "Portfolio" checkbox could be tedious to do for a large number of plans, but if you knew you wanted to do this for all of the plans from last year's campaigns (for example,) that shouldn't be too difficult for your DBA to accomplish on the back end. I've considered this approach but not yet actually tried it.
Unfortunately we do not have an IT/DBA person on staff here, and that seems to be the solution to most issues we have in Tessitura. :(
Hi all!
The status filter at the top of My Portfolio is sticky for each user (use the dropdown at the very top, not the filter icon on the Status column). So you could select only statuses that your organization considers active, thus filtering out all the others. You should not need to reset this each time you access your portfolio or even each time you login (so if you are finding that you are, please open a support ticket so we can help you). This way, history is preserved as is your Portfolio screen.
Hope this helps!
You can open the Workers window from the Plan and uncheck the Show in Portfolio checkbox. This takes the Plan out of the Portfolio, but does not delete it from the Constituent Record.

The Show in My Portfolio box can also be unchecked for a number of Plans using Plans Maintenance.

I agree. I also wish there were more flexibility in determining which details you can see on the Plans tab. It's a pain that you can't see the status without double-clicking into the plan!
Absolutely agree! The status is one of the most important things, I've always been shocked it's not visible without clicking in.
Would you mind elaborating a bit on exactly how you would use Plans Maintenance to do this? Thanks!
We use Plan Source for this purpose. We use it to label fiscal year so that we can check only the one current fy we want to look at and filter out the rest. For instance, our plan code for this year is FY1415.

Hi,
Here’s the link to the documentation that explains how to add workers via Plans Maintenance: http://www.tessituranetwork.com/Help_System_v121/Content/Plans/Adding%20Workers%20to%20Multiple%20Plans.htm
Select a List and fill in the fields in the Plan Worker Details section of the Workers tab in Plans Maintenance as described in the documentation.
After clicking the Populate button, uncheck the "Show in My Portfolio" box for each plan that you want to update.
When you save your results, the plans will be updated and will no longer show in Portfolios.
Melissa
