With this new topic making the rounds-
How can TNEW V7 and the application, V15.1 support contact tracing? Ie- I buy 5 tickets - how do we collect contact info on the other 4 ticket holders? I am most interested in how to do this with TNEW (but interested in phone sales too). I am think custom form data??
Thoughts?
Hello Jessica Bonanno,
I'm afraid I don't really have anything additional to add here other than this has come up in our discussions about remobilisation. I think, for us, there are significant data protection issues that we'd have to iron out if we were to go down this route.
Ideally for TNEW bookings, while custom forms might be a possibility, we'd ideally want something a bit more sophisticated which linked to the recipient field on tickets. The issue with forms, as I see it, is that you can have a varying number of people in a party and so you'd need to be able to vary the number of form fields.
Thanks
Grae
Thinking of utilizing recipients more for this purpose as well. Would love to be able to send email confirmations to initiators/owners AND recipients.
Hi I have put in a request for this as well.. it seems Tessi does it for performaing art, gets tricky for Gen Admin/Museums..hopefully something comes up
Hi, we went live with a dynamic TNEW precart form which prompts for customer contact details after shows are added to the cart. The number of contact detail fields on the form dynamically changes based on the number of seats in the cart.
The contact data is stored in a holding table before being updated into each order's sub line item's recipient I.D. field after the order has been completed. This allows for customer details to be pulled via a standard list / extraction or report like the Performance Seat Book report, etc. The process is definitely new but we are seeing good response from customers providing us with valid contact details. Our Box Office team is looking to further enhance the messaging on the form but the process seems to be working well.
Happy to share more details around this process should anyone be interested. Thanks!
How did you get the TNEW form field to change dynamically, was their some scripting involved?
Aaron Goldberg (Past Member) Yes, the form is scripted as part of a TNEW precart page based on the number of seats that get added to the cart. Each seat generates 2 mandatory form fields: name and mobile / e-mail that sit in a holding table which stores the customer information before being updated to the relevant order recipient field upon order completion.
As mentioned, the process is new and I don't yet have any documentation around it but happy to potentially share the base script that I have if you are interested to implement something similar at NGV. Please feel free to drop me an e-mail and we can go from there. Thanks!
Hi Andrew, is the scripting difficult to do? I only have basic SQL knowledge unfortunately. I would be very grateful if you could send me your process set-up. I was going to create a custom form, but your way sounds much smoother.
Many thanks,
Jenn
Jennifer Laing (Past Member) Hi and my apologies for the delayed reply. There is a bit of scripting involved but happy to share what I have if you want to drop me your e-mail? Thanks!
That would be great Andrew Chew thank you so much! Just when you can. Jenn
