Gift Aid

Hello,

We're about to make our first Gift Aid claim and looking through the documentation isn't helping :(

So we're looking to you! Is there anyone out there with documentation on the claim process that they'd be happy to share or could point us in the right direction.

One of our declarations is showing as out of scope too and I just can't see why. Has anyone else had anything like this? They live in the UK, we have their declaration and everything in Tessitura looks correct.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,
Kyle

  • Hi Kyle - we don't have any documentation at the Young Vic, although we are in the process of creating some which I'm happy to share when it's ready in the new year. Happy to walk you through the process as we understand it over email/on a call though! In terms of the out of scope declaration, what's the payment method for the contribution? Often whole payment methods will be marked as out of scope in your payment methods table, which is located in Campaigns>References>Payment Methods. Might be worth checking that in the first instance?

    All the best

    Cameron

  • Hi Cameron,

That would be incredible! A phone call with our Development Manager would be amazing if you could spare some time! I'll speak with and get back to you about the call.

It was an Amex payment method. I've double checked and it got GA ticked. The GA Type was initially set as the default one so I wonder if that could be the issue.

    Thank you,
    Kyle

  • Hi Cameron,

I'm pretty much in the same boat as Kyle. I'm new to Tessitura and in charge of making our first Gift Aid Claim via Tessitura (we used Raiser's Edge before - also before I joined), and the documentation is just that bit too generic to be of use for me.

Would it be possible to look through/chat through the process you do at some point? I have a few cases like Kyle where I cannot understand why it is out of scope, and both fund and payment method are ticked for GA.

    Kind regards,

    Lauren

  • HI Kyle, Cameron and Lauren,

Let me know if I can help in anyway - I have some outline slides I'd be happy to share? Or indeed also happy to arrange a quick call to run you through the process/take a look at in-scope/out of scope parameters.

I'll drop you all an email after the weekend - but feel free to reach out too!

    Best wishes

    Ellie
