I'm wondering if other venues do the same as us - we offer free admission to the museum for under 5's, with a paying adult. At the moment we don't really have a way to control this online - theoretically, someone could add 5 "under 5" tickets to their basket and pay nothing. We would spot this on scan/entry, so it's not a huge issue, but I'm curious if anyone has a better solution. Pricing rules become tricky as we use our adult ticket price types in another pricing rule.
Any suggestions or thoughts welcomed!
Hey Katie,We offer free admission for under 3's. We've actually got a custom ticketing website, so our in-house Developers have actually written some neat, adaptable code for our site that does a similar thing to a pricing rule. I.e saying no more than X amount of Personal Assistant/Under 3 tickets per Y group of tickets in the basket. They've also got some code as per Naomi's thought above about not releasing X ticket unless Y is detected in the basket.Just so we don't clog up pricing rules with this kind of stuff, and can leave it open for other things. One advantage to having a custom site I guess! We do also have ticket scanning as a final, last check for this before visitors enter our venue. Do give me a shout if you have any questions about the logic of it all, in case you do have a custom website.Hope that helps,James
