Student Ticket Limits - 1 Per Order, Should be 1 Per Student Total

Hi all!

We have had a client reach out to us concerned that students are getting more than their 1 allotted ticket per performance.  They are getting around the 1 per person by making multiple orders.  Our current set-up is as follows:

-Students Log In with NetBadge

-Students are redirected to a page where the Promo Code/MOS switch is automatically applied

-Students can only select one ticket per valid performance

(I've also attached the Arts$ instructions PDF for more info on how it works/what it looks like).

However, this obviously doesn't limit the amount of tickets they can get if they check out with multiple orders.  Does anyone have a suggestion on how to limit this?  Is there a way to do it with out current set-up, or would I have to explore something like rankings?  Would appreciate any suggestions you may have!

    While I don't have a clear answer on how to limit the multiple orders, perhaps you can focus on how to manage those that do have multiple orders. Maybe create an analytics dashboard with the offer/price type and ticket count is greater than one to identify those who have taken advantage of the offer more than once and have the dashboard be sent out every evening.  I would also consider defaulting the tickets to hold at box office to verify the student's ID when picking up the ticket. You could also include some dynamic messaging in the order confirmation that there is a limit of one student ticket per ID and additional tickets reserved will be void/returned, etc. 

  • You are correct, Joe, that there is no current way to restrict the number of tickets per performance. It can only be done by order. But with v16 member benefits it can be done per performance. However, I'm not sure that would be terribly helpful if these aren't people who are already in your system. You would have to manually add them to a membership or have a stored procedure that looked for something on their record and added it.
