Report help - Season Package push results (2 outside source codes used)

Hi there,

I am in need of a little assistance pulling a report to get results of how 2 outside source codes did online for a specific season package push we did last month. I need the number of tickets and sales amount for both codes.

I've tried the below before reaching out to Tessitura. They suggested the Revenue by Source and Appeal. But that didn't really give my any results.

Revenue by Source and Appeal - which didn't yield any sales. I entered the Campaign, Appeals, Source Detail, Appeal Detail, with & without a List, Mode By Order/Contribution Appeal as well as By Transaction Appeal, Start and End Date.

Appeal Response - with the Appeal, As of Order Date & Mode of Sale which generated a report with less than 30 tickets for each of the codes. This is hard to believe with the high volume of email and mailers.

I'm trying to figure out if Extractions would work. I've read the guides but can't seem to figure it out. I've not used Extraction Manager.

Does anyone have any insight you can share?

Thank you!

Donna

  • Is it possible that the source was not being applied to orders as expected?  Do you use Analytics?

  • Donna,

Is this a situation where they would have been unable to purchase without the source code (e.g. some kind of promo/discount)?  Or is this like a mass e-mail with a linked source number that you were expecting to see transfer to the orders that were placed as a result of that e-mail?  If the former, that would definitely indicate some form of issue either with your set-up or website.  If the latter, it depends.  In order to get true tracking of source codes from e-mail all the way through to the order there are often things to consider and/or that might need to be set up to get that to work well.  Is this TNEW or a custom site or both?  In which case, where they are sent first could be an important thing to know as well.

If not necessarily aggregated how you want them, they should at least be working, the reports they suggested SHOULD be able to work properly for whatever data IS in Tessitura.

  • I would also highly recommend Analytics! It can be really helpful in showing source, order details, etc.

To see if any transactions are pulling to those sources at all, in Appeals setup, you can see the number of successful contacts at a glance. That's not necessarily the most helpful view for details, but it would tell you if the sources are being used.

  • Hi John,

This was a situation where the CYO season package was discounted and they needed to enter a code they received either by mailer or by email. There was a Campaign and Appeal set up with a separate source code with the offer. I do see them listed when I pull the Revenue by Source and Appeal and Appeal Response but I get different results with each version I run.

I just tried Analytics again. I think I am getting close. I was able to narrow down the Sales by Top 10 Appeals as well as Sales by Channel and Mode of Sale with the source id and an amount but not number of tickets.  These totals didn't match any of the totals I got on the other reports.

I appreciate you taking to time to share your insight.  I am definitely learning as I go. I have a call with Tessitura tomorrow to talk through the process.

    Thank you,

    Donna

  • Hi Katie,

Thanks for your feedback. I was just in Analytics again and think I am getting closer. I am still a novice at data mining.

    Thank you,

    Donna

  • Hi Gawain,

Thanks for responding. I have a call tomorrow with Tessitura to talk through the process. As far as I know things were working as planned.

    Thank you,

    Donna

  • I wonder if that is it. If the CYO package is where the offer lives, I wonder if the line item source is just on the package and not the performance level. If so, that might explain good revenue counts but the reports not finding the tickets.
