Donation per head / mixed data sets

Haia all

Hoping someone has a magic solution to this one...

We have imported our visitor figures in to Tessitura and I'm looking to show donation per head, so looking at contributions on a specific constituent against the number of tickets booked during that month. (Each museum has it's own constituent).

I know this is affectively mixing Seats and Tickets cube and Contributions cube, but is there any chance this is possible in one widget? Without me having to update it manually?!

It would be a Contribution Amount (Sum filtered by Fund) / Ticket sales (Sum) for a particular constituent in a particular month

All thoughts super welcome!

Thanks all,

Kirsty

  • Connecting donor behavior with ticket buyer behavior is in theory the greatest feature of Tessitura, but having tried to do a number of projects like this, the problem as I understand it is that at some point you have to make a decision about how contributed income is to be applied to each seat, and there isn't a "right" answer to that.  Do you want each seat to hold the purchaser's contribution total?  Do you want to divide it amongst the tickets?  Amongst the performances?  Etc.  I think the fundamental idiosyncrasy in how questions like that will be answered has prevented Tessitura from providing a simple tool for making these kinds of comparisons.  I think JCA tried to codify a formula for Segmentation Engine: I've been left doing ad-hoc SQL queries and then trying to explain how the money is being displayed for each different report.
