Hi all!
Wondering if anyone has a similar issue. A lot of our patrons have a difficult time using promo codes on TNEW. On our site currently, you have to enter the promo code before adding the seat to your cart. It's to my understanding that this is the only way it can be set up on TNEW. However, this often confuses our patrons and they continue to put their promo codes in the gift certificate box even after we changed our language to be very specific. I was wondering if anyone has found a resolution to this or has any ideas.
Thanks!
Hi Courtney,You can also try adding wording to your Buy pages to say something like "if you have a promo code, please enter it in the box at top right before adding tickets to your cart."
Don't forget to also add "and then click Submit to apply the promo code" to the end of your instructions. If they type in the promo without clicking submit, it doesn't apply it. Where there is a will, there is a way to mess up a promo code.
Excellent point!
Documentation for building embeded links is here https://www.tessituranetwork.com/TNEW_7/TNEW.htm#Topics/Building_Links_to_Your_Site.htm
Also if you use WordFly (or a email platform that appends a cource code) you'll want to turn that off for that link only in the testing>links section of building your email. Otherwise your appended source code and get tangled in your promo code.
It's also worth noting in the documentation that the example has 2 parameters in it; premove and promo. The premove=Y bit at the beginning will get rid of any lingering source/promo's that can be a headache to anyone that is already having trouble.
/login?premove=Y&promo=julysale
Just want to thank you all for having already had this convo recently and would like to just add in my two cents that it would be great if tnew could apply a promo code added after items are in the cart. And, as a follow-up question, Anastassia Lavrinenko when you say to put the language on your BUY pages, does that have to be added to the heading or description area for each prod season or is that something that can be set elsewhere? Thanks!
https://www.tessituranetwork.com/TNEW_7/TNEW.htmThere is this:
Once a source or promo code is entered, the session is updated, any associated offers are unlocked, and any associated mode of sale shifts are triggered. If there are already items in the cart that qualify for this triggered offer, the price type selected for the items will be changed to the offer price type (unless the offer price is higher than the current cart price).
but I've usually used pricing rules
Hi Katie - I'm just checking the documentation, and it looks like there is a Heading Instructional Text field under Product Type Editor > Performances. It can be overridden at individual performances. We don't use that field on our TNEW, but it seems this would be a good spot for those promo instructions, and I've seen it on other orgs' TNEW sites.
