Has anyone collaborated with Broadway On Demand?

Hello!

Has anyone partnered with Broadway on Demand? What can you tell me about the integration?

Thank you!

Molly

  • We are just now starting our collab with them. I think we have a meeting to discuss the integration tomorrow (10/27). I'm happy to pass along any Tess-related notes for you Molly (and anyone else who is interested!) Just let me know a good email to send notes to ya!

  • We just partnered with them on a production going live today.   We're using them as an embedded player through the TNEW gated content page in addition to selling through their site/users as well.

  • I have a tag on question for anyone who has gotten this far with a BOD implementation. My understanding of how BOD works is patrons can either watch on your site with an embeddable player (essentially the gated content for those who have TNEW), or the patrons go to either the BOD main site or a white label site for your org on BOD's platform to watch.

We are going to have On Demand content that will have a "rental period" of probably 48 hours that starts when someone clicks play (like when you rent a movie on Amazon/iTunes/etc). Does anyone know if BOD has found a way for that rental timer to work across both the embedded player on your website AND then get picked up on the BOD/white label site? For instance, someone starts watching on your website on Tuesday night at 8 and doesn't finish the show. They come back on Wednesday evening at 8 to finish, but this time from the  BOD white label instead of the embeddable player in your site - does that rental period timer still function across both platforms (ie: it recognizes that there are only 24 hours left) or does the timer start from new for each platform and when they go to the BOD site on Wednesday the 48 hours starts again?

Sorry if this doesn't make sense, but hoping someone can answer Slight smile

  • Wanted to +1 this as we are also starting to talk to Broadway on Demand, and I'm wondering what the advantages and disadvantages are for each of their options (white label site, embed into TNEW, etc.) Any updates from any of the orgs here? Thanks!

  • We did a Whitelist site! It's hosted at www.woollyondemand.net if you'd like to take a poke around. We don't use TNEW for our website (we use L2). We do have an in-house Graphic Designer/Website Manager, so she's been able to handle all the technical aspects of securing the URL and make sure the page is with our "branding".

Generally speaking the whitelist site has been great - we're able to host live streams, on demand videos, and things we've done previously in one central location. The integration with Tessitura has had some hiccups - specifically we're still trying to make our data standards match what Broadway on Demand is pulling for patron logins (happy to provide more details if you'd like!). Which has just been an inconvenience, nothing has really "broken" in our partnership with them.

    Happy to answer other/more questions!

  • Hi Ashleigh,

I'd be curious to hear more details about how the BOD/Tess integration works. First off, are you a RAMP client?

When you sell an event, does the patron purchase through the BOD white glove site or through your main website, or can you purchase through both sites? What system does the purchase confirmation email come from, and what data is on that confirmation?

What purchase and patron data that flows from one system to another and how does that work? Did BOD build the Tessitura integration?

    Thanks!
