Does anyone have experience moving AWAY from a TNEW customization, to just use out-of-the-box functionality?

We have a number of organizations that would like to leverage some of the new application and TNEW functions and get away from the customization they use for education registrations. Is anyone on v15 and TNEW v7 using out-of-the-box functionality to gather student information and provide their education departments with good reports (bonus if you're in a consortium)?  If so, we'd like to hear what works for you!

  • I have some random leads for you, but none that allow us to move away from our customization. However, quite useful bits of functionality that we'll be taking advantage of:

    • We sell education events with grades as the available price types, which gets us aspects of demographic data right there in normal sales reports.
    • Greater ability to ask questions for any event is helpful (dumping everything into a single CSI notes field isn't the greatest, but at least there's now a good mechanism for collecting a bit of extra data without an extra interaction claiming the patrons' time)
    • I'm planning to create a daily Triggered campaign through WordFly that includes a Pages form that collects info about affiliated teachers (so we can get them constituent records too) and probably about special accommodations. I'll map the various answers that come in to various CSIs and Attributes using the newly available integration. I don't love that it requires an additional round of time for the educators, but there are also some very good reasons to avoid asking for this during initial registration and the data mapping is way better for our internal processing.

    Hope this offers you some new ideas.
